At any rate, I can definitely see where tire selection would impact the speed limiter now.
If you remove the high-speed limiter, then you get the low-speed limiter, which limits you to a lower speed, since the a/s tires aren't rated for higher (and for liability reasons).

So I'm NOT opting for a/s tires and will buy winter rims and tires when I get 'er back home.

And besides, the BMW Canadian Price Sheets confirm that opting for a/s tires [2TR] "will delete [remove] STD or 100% equipment 840 [high-speed limiter]." That's a quote.

I see, that makes sense now.

What exactly is the alarm option? If it's just the sound then I don't have any real use for it as that is pointless, but if it's also the key fob that automatically locks/unlocks the doors then that's a different story.

Also, living in a state that might have a total of 2 weeks of snowy roads really puts a damper on what tires to get. How good are BMW all seasons? The pzeros on my GTI have been fantastic for the snow/cold weather, albeit on a fwd set up. If I can get away with all seasons then Id rather not swap out tires every year, but if all seasons can't handle regular freezing temps then I might as well go for a summer/winter set.

That's the "comfort access" option, not alarm.

Be careful here. As I've posted elsewhere, if you order the car with a/s tires, then the top speed is electronically dialed down from 155 m.p.h. to around 138 m.p.h. In Canada, the a/s tire code is 2TR which, when selected as an option, deletes 840 (the higher speed limit(er)). So get the performance tires and spring for the winter wheels.

Did anyone else notice that there is no alarm option for the 228 (there is for 235) on the configurator? Must be a goof as you'd expect the 228 is pre-wired as the other x28 models are.

Is the keyless entry standard or do you have to get the premium package for that? It's perhaps the only worthy thing on the premium package (getting sensatec instead of leather) and perhaps the ambience lighting and for $2300 i rather get the tech package

I'm in Florida, so I don't need the Cold Weather Package, but the Back-Up Camera would be nice. My F30 doesn't have that and since I tint my rear windows darkest legal it's almost impossible to see anything when backing up at night.

Also EBII paint, calipers & dash trim FTW

Do you know how much it limits the speed?!

I don't plan on tracking the car. Am I insane to go with all seasons??

I figured I could buy 19's with performance tires and use the all seasons for winter, rather than having to buy winter tires and rims and a set of much needed 19s.

Conflicting standard features

Just got confirmation my M235 is in production. I Noticed the list of US standard features seams to conflict with some reports and it apparently has:

Xenon Adaptive Headlights with dynamic auto-leveling, Corona headlight-rings, and LED accent lights

Retractable, high-intensity headlight washers

18 x 7.5 front, 18 x 8.0 rear light alloy wheels and 225/40 front, 245/35 rear

Storage compartment package (front and rear doors, lidded compartment in center console, open compartment under front and rear center armrests, front and rear cupholders, storage tray and glove box)

Here is a list of all standard features of the US M235 http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...ModelCode=142C

I was under the impression there were no LED accent lights aside from the corona rings, headlight washers only with cold weather package, same 7.5" rims front/rear and no rear center armrest. Unless I'm misinterpreting these features hopefully someone can clarify this.

Based on all the photos I've seen from the Las Vegas M235i drive event, the M235i DOES in fact come with the following:
- LED accent lights (there are LED brows over the headlights as well as LED light piping in the rear tail lights and LED corona rings).
- Headlight washers standard without the cold weather pack (the photos from Vegas show the car has no heated seats or steering wheel yet you can clearly see the headlight washers).
- The tire sizes are 225/40 front & 245/35 (you can read the text on the tires in some of the high res photos).

The one discrepancy would be the rear armrest. It has been confirmed that the US cars (all 2-series) are lacking the rear arm rest for some unknown reason.

Hope that helps!

Yes that helps, Thank you. It's the rims, I thought were 7.5" F/R but it states 7.5/8.0 F/R, this is good if correct.
In the US parts list http://www.etk.cc/bmw/EN/search/sele...+M235i/USA/52/ you can see a part # for the rear arm rest. If it's not available this would be quite a void seeing that no one can sit in the middle.

True, but one is a Ford, and one is a BMW, somewhat expected.

Sorry but the through loading system which includes the arm rest is almost certainly not included. It isn't on the BMWNA pricing guide which details exactly what is part of the US spec. Your source is the BMW website which has historically been riddled with errors. And if I select the US M235i on ETK I can see parts for Business Nav which we don't get here either... so I'm not sure ETK is reliable for this type of stuff.

And for reference, the US spec E82 was this way - folding seats, no center armrest, and a tray in the middle. Exactly the same as has been seen in photos of the US spec F22s.

The LSD has been confirmed at $1500? I figured it was going to be a lot more.
