Yas Marina M240i
I saw an M240i last night in Santa Monica, it was Yas Marina Blue. I know the 2er is not part of the individual program so I was intrigued. I wanted to take a few pics and look in closer detail, but I was with the wife and she wasn't having any of my nonsense lol.
Could it be a wrap? It was very very good color match and install if it was. It looked perfect with the cars proportions - much better than M4 et al Just thought I'd share - maybe someone knows the car and has pics?

You can special-order Individual colors on any BMW if you work with your CA and dealership (and area willing to pay for it). It's a lot of paperwork, but it can be done. Aside from that, it could very well be a wrap.

Last I checked, the Leipzig plant does not participate in the Individual program, so the likelihood of a wrap is greater.

I remember reading or hearing somewhere that if you pay enough BMW will send your car to a factory that does individual colors.

Yes, but it's literally like the cost of buying another F22. It happened once, I believe, because someone dangled the cash in front of BMW and they bit.

Are you sure it wasn't that new shade of light blue that just came out for the 230/240's? Probably that or a wrap-job - I'd heard you couldn't custom-paint a 2'er, and even if you could, hard to imagine a/b would spend that much.

The appeal of YMB, IMHO, is based almost entirely on its exclusiveness. People would go for baby shit green if is were offered only on an exclusive model. Hmmm, maybe I should suggest that color option to the powers that be, but we would need a better name for it. Any suggestions?

Conversely, there is a Java Green I find to rather painful to look at so maybe your Baby $#!t Green does already exist under a different name. |

Completely agree - if you read the post though you'd see i couldn't take pics at the time, and I'm asking for Intel on the car, figured someone on here may even own it or know of it in So Cal.
I can't believe a random Joe who isn't an enthusiast would decide to mod their car with a wrap that matches a color not available from manufacturer - nor would anyone who would spend the $$$$$ for BMW manufaktur (sp?) customization on a 240...you'd do it on an M2. I'm certain it wasn't any standard color choice currently in the 2er range, so made me think a wrap. I haven't seen a wrap that matches the color. It was just too OEM. Again, I could be wrong and someone could add to the thread that it's available from a certain vendor and give the community an option. Also anyone who may have been thinking of a wrap in this color on a 240 - do it. It's so nice.

Agreed - its unmistakable, and it's appealing in a very specific scenario - and it isn't available on 240...so the car is very unique and someone spent a bomb on a 240 or it's a wrap, and a very good color match.

Yeah, it's something I'd consider if I were keeping the car for a long long time. Mine is pretty much a garage car w/ limited exposure to the elements (sun being the biggest element in Florida). I'd love the have a YMB M240i. Very cool indeed.
