Brake light, difference in color?

Hi there, strange question.

Some ******* person smashed my brake light a week ago.
Probably with a hammer or something, at night, no reason.
SO, i ordered a new brake light unit...

The dealer placed it,
but when i got the car home i noticed
that the new brake light is darker!

Did BMW changed the darkness of the light units?
Or does a light unit change fast in color and clarity thru sunlight?

Anybody knows?

I see enough differences that I think the part number should be checked again for your model.

I should look at mine more closely, I had the drivers side one replaced because it got a good bit of moisture in it.
