2 series starting to appear in mass in So Cal
Got my M235 in June 2014 and for months I would barely see one a month in the wild, it used to be an event every time I saw one! Waving, smiling and thumbs up always followed!!
In the last month or so I'm starting to see them (228 and M235) at the rate of 4-5 per day!! Don't feel so special anymore although it's good for BMW that the 2er seems to be catching on with the general buying public in a way the 1 series never did. Anyone else experience the same lately? Curious about recent sales figures and inventory levels |

2,147 vs 904 LY up 137%. March was up 124% probably due to convertible sales kicking in.

Huh I still see very few in San Diego. And the ones I have seen are the same ones typically. I know of an estoril one that lives somewhere near me, as well as a white one. There is a white M235i in UTC as well as one gunmetal, and there is occasionally a black 228i ive seen near carmel valley, as well as an estoril M235i.
Someone that works at Brecht BMW also has an estoril one I think. |

The last month I'm seeing about one a week. Before this none. I live in So Cal. This week I saw. 228i in Melbourne Red, like the one I have on order for ED. So yes, more are on the road in So Cal.

I see one or two around these parts, and it's always the same two.
I see more 1-series than 2-series by a long shot.

I commute 45 miles a day and I am yet to see a single 2 series in the Boston area other than at the dealer! On the other hand, every other car seems to be a 3 series and I see several 1 series a week.

You definitely keep a look out when you get one or order one. Here in West Florida, I will occasionally see my neighbor that lives close to me in her M235 and a 228 within walking distance. Other than those, in the 11 months since I ordered mine, I've only seen 1, maybe 2 others on the road. No verts yet (except one at the dealer). BTW, those other 228s that I've seen always seem to be in white. Agree with uberspeed, in Fla, 3 series are everywhere. Even 4 series, I see different ones of those at least twice a month.
I know SoCal there is a higher demand, and I'm beginning to think that's where BMW is sending most of them, thus the reason for lower sightings in other parts of the US. Just a theory though. |

I live in SoCal as well (Burbank).
Am totally seeing more 2 series too. Here's an interesting observation I've noticed recently. Whenever I see a 1 series, it's generally being driven by a female driver. I'd say approximately 70% of the ones I see. The 2 series that I've seen are mostly male drivers. (228's - 70/30 male to female, M235i's - 100% male drivers). Is this just a coincidence or do others see these gender trends as well? |
