Took my 235 in for slight vibration at 70-80mph, turns out both front wheels and front driver tire has bubble on sidewall. I bought the wheel and tire insurance so hopefully it's all covered. The tech said they need to send pictures to insurance company but a picture usually doesn't show up too good in pictures... the highways around Boston are littered with huge potholes, hitting one at 80 is pretty scary and now I know causes quite the damage!

I have an uncle who has had the same bubbling problem time and time again on his 550 and has had it covered every time under the tire insurance. You shouldn't have a problem with your claim.

I had wheel / tire insurance on my last BMW.

A large 2-lane-wide pothole on 495 bubbled both front tires and bent one front wheel. The tires were covered and replaced. The bent wheel was not, as it still was holding air, which appears to be the cutpoint for wheel replacement..

i remember those back when I was there. SoCal's are nicer-ish surface wise, but there seems to always be a ton of road debris and blown tires you have to watch out for...

Rhode Island's are consistently ranked the worst in the country. I really want to putnmy 18" summers back on now but the roads are pure crap.

Yup go into the wheels and tires section here.. I'm going through 4 bent rims from driving between rhode island and boston constantly.. 10,000 miles.. Got wheel and tire insurance and now I am just waiting for the wheels to come in. But somehow all 4 tires were perfect These f*cking runflats give no safety cushion with that stiff suspension. If you hit a pothole and you here a cringing pothole on metal noise you know you got hosed.

Also I would like to organize some type of get together for the boston / s. of boston / ri 2-series. We just need to pick a date/time, maybe do it at a coffee place etc. Shoot the shit, drool at mods, take pictures of the cars. If anyone needs NAV updates we could do that too.

Yea the roads around here (Rhode Island) absolutely suck right now you can't even avoid the potholes anymore you just have to choose which one you'd rather hit

Ya, we need to get together! My car is a mess right now though. Haven't had a chance to do a full spring detail.

On my commute to work I try to stay in the same lane for various sections so I know exactly where all the potholes are. It's helped. I've been lucky so far, and the switch to 17s for winter has been great. Was thinking of going PSS or equivalent immediately and ditching the runflats. My car is a lease and I'm not paying $320 a tire for runflats when I turn in the car. I have my first baby coming April 21, so I'm likely going to run the runflats this summer and swap them out over next winter. Going to be a hospital bill of $1000 min. I'll run the runflats and get some money out of them.

Yes I am not likeing these P7 runflats on my 2er. When it got cold this winter of course the sensors went off telling me my tires were under inflated...which is normal and expected come cold weather. I filled them all to factory specs...32 psi front...36 rear. Today I pulled out and got a low left rear warning. I pulled back into the garage and took out the compressor to fill it up to 36 psi. It was in the low 20s...took awhile. I reset the alerts and all is fine. Its only been a couple of months since I filled them up. Never had that issue before. Usually one time in winter does the trick for the year.

I never got the low pressure light with the p7s all winter only time I got it was when I smacked a pothole and blew my rear right tire

Living in the South I usually get a warning on all our cars in the Winter. I am glad the sensors are working though. I mean the left rear was down 10-15 PSI but I could not tell by looking at it!

You mean outright dangerous. No wonder you have issues. Manufacturer warns not to run in under 40 degree weather due to cracking and delamination risk. Your delamination is expected in this case. My summers are still off the car.

My 17" snow tires were the first time I've not used all seasons....it was eye opening. Snow tires will be going on my wife's wagon next year.

Exactly, my wife's F31 on snows is unstoppable. My M235i on snows is quite good in the snow.

Really? I've never had a car with these tires before, I knew they were not ment for snow but I didn't know of the de lamination risk. I guess I'll get different tires for next winter.

Please do. The PSS are dangerous in the cold. I recommend performance winters. We don't really live in the snow belt and they work well.
