TWO! My local dealer (a very small one at that) has about *20* 3-series sedans, and I bet in the last two weeks of the year they will give you a killer deal on any of them. They have no M235i's at all, can't get enough of them to keep them in stock.

I didn't think they were particularly rare. The dealership that I bought mine from (Crevier) has 22 in stock.

sorry if this is a stupid question, but is there a chance of the residuals getting better once m2 pricing is released? i mean it would only make sense right? really want to get into one right now, but the payments are just a joke.

Think the switch to 240 would have a bigger impact

Hard to say but I think it'll come back around. I got mine under a 60% residual. You will either need supply to increase or demand to taper off.

Guys, the residuals listed in this post are wrong - I got 58% for 12k/36mo.

Closed a lease on a BMW NA car with 5k miles (never titled, used by BMW employees) for 443/mo, 12k/year 36 mo, no down payment, 7x MSDs, acq and registration paid up front.

A number of dealers in the area have similar cars. Can get about 10k off sticker for 5-7k miles on the car.

I'm guessing these are loaner cars?

No, they were not owned by dealer but by BMW North America. "Executive cars."

I've got a diesel 3 for the gf, stickered right around $50K and well under $400 w taxes and nothing down. Exec car, had 6K on it when we got it. If you can find one you like those are some of the best deals you'll ever find. My dealer has an M235 for $375 a month nothing down right now.

See you're in PA. Call Peter Ryan at Main Line he's always got half a dozen or so in stock. Not sure if its proximity to BMW corporate or what, think it's kind of hit or miss on which dealers carry inventory.

This may be a stupid question but where can I find the residual values every month? Is this something available on bmwusa.com or does someone from a partner dealership have to release these numbers to the forum?

I go to edmunds.com forums where they post it every month (if not, you can always request it for the months/miles).

you will see more and more of the exec demo cars. dealer buys from BMW exclusive auction. the auction used to occur every 90 days but now they have one every week, just with less cars. we have had a lot of success with these lately. new car manager hates them though

usually see them sold as CPO Elite. that would be the easiest way to search for them. find a CPO Elite car, check Carfax. if Carfax is blank then its an Exec Demo. dealer demos are different

They get posted here in the ordering thread usually a few days after they get announced.

However, you can check them on BMWusa.com by clicking on the more info section of the lease offer. Divide the end of lease buyout price (residual value) by the MSRP and that gives you the 10k percentage. Subtract 2% for 12k and 3% for 15k.

Looks like the 2 series residuals are back to 60% for January now that all the incentives are gone. (58% 12k, 57% 15k)

Articles like this make me stay away from executive demos.

I seriously hope not because that was a pretty terrible article. as far as BMW is concerned, there is no title. press cars are different.

Press cars are usually crushed after they get the piss beat out of them for their short lives.

I've had nothing but good luck w my BMW exec demos. That said I'm a HUGE fan of leasing them and making sure the warranty is good through the term of the lease. Worst case scenario I spend a few more days than expected in a loaner. I would be slightly nervous about buying one.

When I did the BMW M-school we asked what happened to this gorgeous fleet of fully loaded M cars, and the answer was "they get "Refurbished" and resold - but the customers know they were corporate race cars" - I expect they end up with a similar fate, and the only way you know your M car was used on track its entire life is the 3" of rubber accumulated in the underside of the wheel wells.

At the same time, I've had a friend buy a Subaru Exec demo from one of my other friends who is a Subaru sales manager and he had no issues with the car well over 100k into the life of the vehicle.

There was just reports of someone buying Jeremy Clarkson's M3 demo vehicle over in the UK after it kept having mechanical problems.

FWIW, if you're leasing, executive demos would be a great deal - you'll have a warranty and ultimately you're giving BMW the car back. I'd feel less worried about it then. Nothing to say a "new" car couldn't have had some jackass take it for a brutal test drive. People even complain that their Euro delivery cars have too much mileage upon redelivery.

At the end of the day, cars are usually meant to be driven, and someone will probably abuse it at some point - that's why it's a machine made of replaceable parts.

Contacted my CA and he redivided my lease at 59% residual, so I added MPE to my list of Port Installs. Cost wound up $1. more in payment. February might get better yet, but I'll be past being able to do any more Port Installs by then. My little Grey Ghost it 3 days west of the Canary Islands right now. Due at port on Saturday. Pick up date at PCD is March 9th. Getting closer.

So if you do 36k mile lease on a demo car that already has 5k miles, are you given an extra 5k miles?
