Hi Folks,

I have been doing HPDE's for about 12 years. At this point I am still waiting for my M235i to get back from euro delivery and am starting to get antsy to get it to the track.

One stupid question - does running the car on the track cause the paint on the brake calipers to fade/change colors? On my Evo x, the red calipers turned into a lovely shade of brown...

If you change to a race fluid and go to a race pads then yes. However you will also be running the rotors, calipers, wheel bearings, ext way to hot. I.e. If your changing colors you are severely accelerating the wear. I run race pads and stainless lines, and a good dot4 which I flush every event. The pedal will get soft letting me know it's time to cool down. This has only happened once to me, yesterday actually. The race pads were pretty much gone, allowing more heat to build up.

Not with the stock M235i brakes.
