Will the 2 get new engine?
So words on the street is that the 3 series (LCI) will get new engines. You think the 2 will follow?
335 will become 340 with the new B58 engine 328 will become 330 with B48

I think so. It's usually what happens when they introduce a new generation of engines. The M2, however, will likely to be based on the current generation N55.
The real question is whether it'll still be 320hp or 350hp or more? It has make less power than the M2. And whether it'll be called the M240i? |

An M235i with a B58? I'm more than OK with this. If that's projected to put out upwards of 340-350 hp, that n55 in the M2 should be pushing north of 370 hp I'd guess, yeah?

The recent post regarding new naming and engine implies a life cycle impulse M235i will receive the B58. |

It would be good news for the HP rating of the M2 if the LCI 235 (or 240) comes out first with the B engine rated at 340 hp or thereabouts. The M2 would have to break 370 in that case.

Yes, it will get a new engine. It has already been in the newspost about upcoming models and engines for a while:

I'm confident BMW won't put a used engine in the M2.
