Less M Badges on MY2015

Did anyone notice on the configurator for the MY2015 M235i the side M logos don't seem to be there?

Yeah I saw that and pointed it out on the configurator thread, looks much better IMO. Would have saved me some debadging.

My thoughts on the badges all over the car flip flop. The side ones I sometimes don't mind but then I say to myself, man is it actually a bit overkill? Then I think it's not that big of a deal because they're small. Just don't want it to seem like we're driving around in something that looks like we got M Badge Happy here and look like we did it ourselves and it wasn't actually done by the factory haha.

M badges on the wheels is as expected, same goes with Steering Wheel. I like it in the dash at the bottom of the cluster gauges and nice touch on the footrest plate. Again, they belong on the brakes as they are "M-Sport" Brakes and I feel it belongs on the trunk as well to signify it is an M-Performance Vehicle. If you opt out of the 8-speed auto then you get an extra one on the shift knob of the 6-speed manual.

I saw a new M4 yesterday. It had an additional M badge, an M4 on the kidney grills.

Soooo...is it bad that I just ordered one of these? :P

Couldn't really find anything else that's OEM that I liked, anyone have suggestions?

I don't think there is that much overkill with the badges on the exterior. I mean maybe if you really look at the details with the wheels and the calipers, but most people won't even notice those so you really just have the side fenders and the trunk that stick out in my opinion. None of the badges on the interior bother me one bit.

I think people care too much about the ///M badges. Take them off, leave them on, I don't care either way.

+1 purely aesthetic preference led to debadging for me

You don't have the debadging option for the US spec car? I live in Europe and when you configure your car you can choose if you want the side badges and rear badge or not. It's a no cost option.

i think this is really the first time they've had side badges on the US cars.

for the F30 with the 'sport, luxury , modern" thing, you couldn't even get them here if you wanted them (i know they had it in europe, and it looks terrible..)

That being said it's pretty much on all m sport models now though. 2 series, 4 series, x5, x4,x3, X1 probably the 3 series too.

XDrive has badges too right? Will M235i XDrive have both?

Exactly. I think the automotive magazine reviewers have gotten way too wrapped around the axle regarding the M badges on the M235i. Had I never bought mine, I seriously doubt I ever would've noticed the badges on a passing M235i. Seriously, many of the badges are hidden such as the ones inside the car and on the door sills. And the ones on the wheels and brake calipers are just a blur, literally. Probably the only one I would've noticed would be the one on the trunk lid. Just not a big deal to me.

Factory ///M badges, wherever they may be, are fine. The ones that people stick on their cars are stupid.
