Vanos: OEM vs Aftermarket

At 90K miles, I'm looking to replace my vanos solenoids for general maintenance. Rock Auto has Gates for $58 bucks each versus aftermarket for $160-$180 each.

I searched the board but didn't find much about N54 solenoid replaacements. Has anyone tried the Gates solenoids? Who the makes the OE vanos solenoid?

Thanks

If the OEM ones got you 90k miles and you are doing it preventatively as it is, why would you even consider spending that much $ on aftermarket solenoids? What would they do for performance? Going to go out on a limb and guess zero. But hey, it's your money!

Is there a reason you're asking about E9x/N54 parts on an F2x forum? The E9x forum would provide much more relevant experience and information.

OP's been banned. Looks like his last post included a dubious URL -- and his other content was for Exx 3 Series issues. Just ignore (and mods, I'd lock this thread at the very least).
