Welt delivery of F22 220i

Ordered my first ever new car and second Bmw 01/26. Got it delivered at Bmw Welt 04/28.

I went there with my girlfriend and we spent most of the day before the delivery checking out the welt and test driving an F80 M3 from Bmw On Demand. Got to try the M3 on autobahn at high speeds and had some fun there.

The next day we had delivery scheduled at 09:20 am. We arrived there an hour early so we had some time to fill out the paperwork and relax a little bit in the lounge before the delivery. When we met up with Wolfgang from Bmw we took the elevator up a few floors and he told us a bit of Bmw's story and the concepts of the 2 series coupe. After this we went down again to walk down the stairs to heaven. Wolfgang showed us everything about the car and was really great.

After we got the car we took our victory lap(s) before driving the car outside and handed it over to the valet. We then went to the gift shop to use our gift certificate before going on the plant tour for 2 hours. After the plant tour we had a couple hours to spend at the museum before our i8 rental at 5 pm.
We parked the i8 outside the Welt to take a few pictures of it and within 2 minutes 10-15 people had gathered around also to take pictures of it. We got out of there to test it in the streets, but there was rush hour so we didn't get too much speed. But it was very fun to get the chance to try the i8!

After our test drive we started our 3000 km (1900 miles) journey home

Very cool! How does it work in europe? In America, we purcahse the car through a dealership in the US and then pick it up at the welt. Is it the same in Norway? How do you register the car? As a norwegian car or as a german import?

I think it works pretty much the same as in America then. The car is ordered through a Norwegian dealer, they ordered Norwegian plates and fixed everything with the customs. Although the car couldn't be registered before it had entered the country. So i got German export plates on the car when i picked it up, much like you guys do. These were valid for 2 weeks, so when i got to the customs on the Norwegian border the papers were waiting for me there. They checked the Vin number and i got my papers stamped. When i got home i then sent this stamped document to the dealer so they could register it and send me the Norwegian plates. I got the plates yesterday and got them mounted today.
Will try to get a picture of it tomorrow after getting it cleaned.

So i think the biggest difference is that i got to drive it all the way home instead of dropping it off and getting it shipped
