Hi guys - just to let you know I have slightly used Racechip Ultimate for sale. As some of you might remember - suffering from my previous BMW (the N20 528xi) lack of power - I tried different solutions (piggy-boxes from Speedbuster, Racechip etc). This means my unit is an N-engine unit - if someone needs it for the N55 motor it's easy: you just send it to the dealer and they send it back re-programmed, and with new appropriate harness.

Please PM me if interested.

EDIT: with the shipping prices of the Polish International Mail Service, I decided to limit my offer to only those living in the EU; otherwise the shipping charges would make the transaction very expensive.

Is that airbox pulling air from inside the engine bay?

No. The air vents are at the front where the kidney grill is. It draws air from the outside, into the filter that is encased in the afe closed air box and then passed into the engine bay.

Well, I finally installed racechip ultim 2 weeks ago, and put in some decent fuel on the weekend also

It is superb, PSI reading is at around 13 on my Torque App in upper gears, that sound right? I thought it would send it more in the 14 psi ranges?

Besides that , I took out my mate in his 1M with ease yesterday, he now wants to get RC also and re-challenge me... LOL

Just added a Fabspeed catted downpipe to the Racechip on setting D. Feels great after short 20 mile drive from shop to work. Best way to describe it is D mode feels like the old Sport mode and Sport Mode is super quick and effortless acceleration.

I will play around with settings and maybe go up to F or so with downpipe now in. Still waiting for 2 months on my Dinan intake order. Anyone thinking catted downpipe isn't worth it, is kidding themselves. It's a different car and the sound is awesome as well without being annoying and without any smell.

I don't think the boost seems off here is a boost chart for JB4 on map at default settings for N55 F series cars. It's peak is 13.5.

How do you find it differs from your BMS Stage 1 tune? Smoother? More power? Torqueir?

Thanks!

Yes, all of that, but a small lag now at low revs when re accelerating , prob due to boost coming in harder

I hit a 14.6 psi in 4th l last night, cold temp and prob running around 98 unl octane, felt like I was going to take off...

Interesting , I thought jb4 would be higher?

On mine I can clearly hear the turbo now , seems to be running around 12.3 psi on normal gas but now over 13 with the extra octane...

Grip in 1st and 2nd is a big problem, I need bigger rubber at the back, it's a problem...

In regards to lag upon re-accelerating, I've experienced this with both JB stage 1 and to a lesser extent the RC Ultimate. I swapped to a hi-flow catted downpipe from Fabspeed yesterday and all that lag is gone and was able to push up to F setting on the RC box; major improvement in power as well as instant power/no lag. I think these tunes need a better downpipe matched with them to get the full benefit of the added boost. No CEL either with the catted downpipe; just RC Ultimate 2 wire tune and catted downpipe.

Just changed my setting to C1 . Didn't really feel a difference . Running a drop in filter and Dinan cut back on 91 octane . Not sure if I should try D1

I doubt D1 is a good setting for 91 octane and stock downpipe. That was the highest setting I could go with 93 octane and stock downpipe. I'd stick with B or C.

What would be the most ideal setting for the following:

- intake
- ar design hfc downpipe
- awe-tuning mid-pipe
- awe-tuning exhaust
- 94 octane

I'm on F setting with 93 octane and fabspeed hfc, all else stock. F runs great for me and should for you, you could maybe try 1 notch or 2 higher, but doubt the midpipe/catback help much along with 1 extra octane. Racechip is a bit of a trial and error with mods product, I suppose elevation and outside temp play factors too. Try D for a tank, move to F for a tank and then go 1 notch at a time until you get hesitations or CEL, then drop down 1-2. I will say the higher the setting the more important it becomes to stay out of sport throttle settings and use moderate acceleration until fully warmed up.

Robync be careful what you post and be more specific, otherwise people will get confused. "C" maybe stock or default for N20 engine ( I am not certain on this ) but it is not the case for N55 engine which to my knowledge the stock/default setting is "B"

I just wanted to contribute to this thread since I picked up RC ultimate few weeks ago for my 2015 X5 35i and at setting S2=B (default setting) I didn't feel much difference initially. I had to drive around for at least 10 miles until I felt the increase in power and torque. After about 500 miles ( took a trip to MD from NJ 200 miles) on setting B, I upped the setting to C for one full tank and immediately felt the gains.

I am currently on the next setting D and I feel like the power delivery is smooth and really brings my heavy X5 alive.. Average temperature where I live has been from 83F to lower 90s so far without any issues. Only thing I do notice is that the fan comes on more frequently during WOT and when I drive up steep hills.

+1 , as mentioned prior chaddy74 informed us RaceChip Engineers w/ FBO prefer F as the best balance with those running Mods.

Give B/C a whole tank since you're running 91 octane but improvement should be noticeable. I know AlexGT with mods has ran B/C for a long time and is happy.

Why are there never any before/after 0-60 and 1/4 mile times stock vs. these tunes? I'd pick a chip up in a heartbeat if I knew the performance improvement was there and could be measured.
