When I saw your picture of your installed amp remote I felt particularly envious of your AUX input.
You'd have to dig into the FiiO site but I think the newer ones have optical out. You could wire that to the Match (or other) amp. I keep forgetting the newer cars don't have aux-in. The other option would be to find an older amp. I think the 82 vs current 86 used to have an aux-in.

Either way I think you'd lose some functionality vs my setup. I can have lossless in and still get navigation, calls, etc. The other issue is that the more expensive FiiO - I assume the entry level one doesn't have optical - doesn't have the in vehicle mode as far as I know. Which to be honest in a car is a killer app. It senses power from usb and automatically turns on and starts playing.

In preparation for the drive to warmer climates, I took off the winter rubber and reinstalled the MPSS. Hopefully no freak snow storms between Maryland and Florida tomorrow!

Check with Bimmertech directly - it's the same exact hardware with Bavsound tune that Jason wrote installed on it. Otherwise Technic PNP (Elias) is an excellent resource, he can tell you everything out there that could work with your car and build you a harness to make it all play nice together.

That said I assume you called or emailed Bavsound. If you didn't, start there. They may have something in the pipeline that will be released soon.

My wife had to pick the car up for me from the garage.
Needless to say she doesn't like it and has now called the car a 'dick mobile'.

Too loud for her. Probably means sounds amazing when translated to a man.

But running the fab speed sports cat, super sprint non resonated pipes to the M2 muffler.

Unfortunate for me I'm away and can't drive the car for 3 weeks!

Put my new steering wheel cover on. I have to take off the trim to tuck away the excess, but I'll save that for tomorrow. Overall I like the looks, will take a bit to get used to the feel

doesn't look to bad for a cover. cheaper than a full replacement wheel for sure.

looks good.

That looks like a shopping cart. If that's the case the store should reimburse you.

In terms of legality yes I don’t think it’s loud enough to get pulled over, I have stock cat/resonator. I don’t have a clip of mine, but if you search fabspeed muffler bypass it’s the same product and end result in terms of sound.

Limited Slip Installed

I had the M Performance limited slip differential installed today. Local CCA had a 20% off deal going for parts and labor, so I jumped on it.

The effect right now is so subtle I'm not sure I'm imagining it or not, but it does seem to push out of tight corners a bit better. Only 15 miles on it, so treating it carefully for the first few hundred. (Hard not to push it a little bit though. ) Been doing some circles and figure 8's to break it in. Really quiet at the moment. At full lock I can hear some light grinding, but it might just be tire scrub.

I'm a bit disappointed that it looks exactly like the stock diff. No way to tell externally that it is the LSD. It should have some kind of obvious tag or engraving to make it stand out. Or maybe a nice finned heat-sink cover. If it wasn't so shiny, and I didn't have the old one and the box it came in, I'd almost wonder if it was the LSD.

Not sure what I'll do with the original diff. Suppose I'll keep it as a spare, just in case, or maybe to swap back. It is surprising just how heavy it is. Box says 35.5Kg net (78.2 lbs). And it feels even heavier. It's larger than it looks under the car also. A very heavy chunk of metal.

Very nice!! I’m jealous lol. Haven’t been to my first track day but once I feel my driver mod is to the point I feel the need for the LSD, it will definitely be in my mod list. And totally agree a nice engraved //M emblem at least..

It didn't happen at a grocery store. To be honest I don't know where exactly it happened as I didn't notice it the day after it happened. This is a handy work of another SUV or a Pick-up truck gusseting from the height of the damage and no paint mark left on the damage part.
