Rear Spoiler Fitting

just putting on my new rear spoiler in gloss black.

removing all the original adhesive is a right PIA!!

original came off easy enough. just heated it up a bit with a hair dryer and use a trim tool to get underneath and just prise it off.

I don't know why people have problems removing the adhesive, just roll it off with your fingers, so easy.

Looks good. The adhesive is easiest to remove with a eraser wheel like this one.

Just don't keep it in one spot and overheat the paint

6 hours in total. Couldn't get mine off just by rolling... has to remove it hardly with combination of heat, WD40 and plastic (soft) prying tool.. Had to polish whole trunk after.

sounds about right

I bought some auto glym tar remover - that worked well and some product that's actually called - 'sticky stuff remover'

Well at least I know I will never do that again and keep my future car stock, haha.

I did it to me previous 5 series, removed the stock spoiler for the m performance CF version so knew what I was getting myself into.

was in 2 minds to do it or not because of that - but the black spoiler compliments the other gloss black elements of the car.

Great :-).
Well this was my first time. I've got OEM M Perf carbon one with pre-installed 3M tape for about €300 USD right from factory (it's made here in Czech).
Even though my girlfriend hates how the carbon looks, I love it!
Yours is quite unique, haven't seen this combo before.
