Rickson,
You can use JB4 and latest FW without FF and EWG cables. No more problem however, you will get more gains with EWG cable fitted, as it allows JB4 to control turbo wastegate for better control of boost. If you fit EWG, you must install FF cable. If not, you run the risk of your car running too lean [more boost from EWG but AFR's go out of limits as JB4 is not connected to fuel rail] and either JB4 defaults to bypass mode [map 4] and or your car's ECU going into limp mode. I started with map 1 on V3.3 with 91 octane, and just began running map 2 with 94 octane and the car (otherwise stock) feels great!!!
I know it's not a very quantitative evaluation, but with the possibility of going from map 0 (OEM) to map 1, 2 etc. (on the steering wheel) it's very easy to do a before/after dyno, which I shall be doing as soon as I get a chance. |

I have a core JB4 with 3.1 or 3.2. I did the core exchange with BMS to get the EWG built in board, but forgot to send it back within the time period lol.. So if anyone needs it, lmk I'll sell it for $150

Yes - see attached from N54 Tech, BMS's own forum site. http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23709 Under random thoughts item #6 "6) To use the EWG add on harness the FF add on harness is also required." Ultimately, its your car, your risk and so your choice. BP

But thank you for your input. Are the terms cables, wires, and harnesses all synonymous? In other words, does the EWG harness=cable=wire? |

updating now, Version 3.3.1 apparently though. Guess it fixes a CANFLAP error from 3.3. Also I was just asking what PID actually controls. I have mine set at 10.

I have no issues with the CANflap on 3.3. 3.31 is supposed to be the fix for the CANflap but I had issues with it so I'm using 3.3 now. Hope this helps |

I've been running 3.3 for a while now and I found exactly what I found with 3.2 in map 1 here ok map 2, which makes sense as they are the same. It pulls hard down low but the top end pull feel reduced. After running map 2 for weeks I recently switched to map 5 and it just feels like it is pulling way harder up top.
