Mid-pipe

Does anyone know where I could buy just a mid-pipe only, finding it hard to locate one,on my gtr I replaced the mid only,it was cost effective and was a great mod.
Any help much appreciated

All of our OEM exhaust plumbing is already stainless steel. Unless you increase the diameter of the piping and get it in a lighter material there will be no performance gaining you will be merely replacing metal for the same metal just more money. Remove the resonator at first and you may be impressed how you like it. I run a muffler and resonator delete on my 2 and it is the best $210 I ever spent on the car.

I'd like to know the same. My car is leased is so I don't want to chop up the factory mid-pipe but would like a little more sound from my MP exhaust. I don't see $2000+ for a catback exhaust as a reasonable cost.

I have a friend who does some fabbing work who is going to take a look at my car this weekend to see if he'd be able to make a custom midpipe for me.

Oh ok,i thought it may remove a cat or a restriction of some kind, with the gtr it got rid of a cat,it sounded better and felt like better throttle response.
Any details on where you got your set-up ?

You have a turbo car. The portion of the exhaust with the cat is the downpipe. Yes, removing it will get you a good 15-20hp, you will feel that, and much louder.

This. I had my MPE installed the other day and had a long discussion with the shop owner about mid-pipe options. Once you are under the car, you will realize that the stock mid pipe is quite wide and obviously of high quality material. His opinion was that any modification to it would do very little. If you want a little more sound delete the resonator, but replacing the mid-pipe doesn't make sense.

Fabspeed Sport Downpipe

Hi M235I owners,

Fabspeed Motorsport is a new sponsor to the forum and Id like to introduce myself. My name is John Brandenberger. I will be your point of contact for anything from order quotes to product dimensions.
From my experience with your car I'd like to recommend replacing your Downpipe with one of our Fabspeed Sport Cat Downpipes.
Its the best of both worlds. Our down pipe is a direct bolt on replacement and easily reversible. You get a serious power/torque increase, increase in sound, faster turbo spooling and wont throw a CEL.

Bonus: All forum members get a discount when they place their order through me! Pm me with your shipping destination for a quote.

Unfortunately a downpipe isn't something I can consider since I need to remain legal for F Street SCCA class for autox.
