Yes, but I got it in Hong Kong so it was cheaper, around $2000k.
To be clear, the loud backfire (gun shot loud) occurs after downshifting at high revs and on lifting off the pedal at high rpms. Maybe the CAI is causing the cpu to add more fuel thus louder backfire? Anyone experienced a similar louder backfire after installing CAI? |

BD_F22 is running a Fabspeed Valvetronic Performance Exhaust with a Catbypass Downpipe, which give it that great aggressive crackling sound. The Valvetronic Exhaust will give you a fair amount of that, but the catless downpipes amplify it further. We also offer a Sport Cat Downpipe which is a great compromise of street-able sound and power while still complying with most emissions regulations.
As for warranty, you should have no problem. No, the dealership will not warranty any issues with the Fabspeed parts, but all of our products are covered under their own Limited Lifetime Warranty. The dealership is not legally allowed to refuse warranty coverage for any other part of the vehicle just because an aftermarket exhaust was installed, thanks to the Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act. Here is another video clip of the Fabspeed Valvetronic Performance Exhaust with Catbypass Downpipes:

Our Catbypass is a true catbypass downpipe. Our Sportcat downpipe features a high flow 200-cell HJS performance catalyst.
A Catbypass will cause a check engine light in your car. Many of our customers drive around with the check engine light on. There is nothing wrong with the light being on but you would need a tuner to turn off the light. Our Sportcat downpipe will not effect the check engine light and produce almost the same power results. For most customers this is what we recommend. |

I recommend doing downpipes with the MPE. It'll really open up the exhaust and give you the popping and cracking you want
We are a vendor for Fabspeed if you are interested in their catbypass downpipe.

1) The fitting is a slip/bolt on? Does it mean I can do it myself? 2) Do you know where the electronic sensor is that monitors the flow/quality that may (in a catless situation) create an engine error? 3) The price of the Sport-Cat is half of the price of the whole MPE? Is it going to make such a difference to the sound to be worth the spend. 4) Is this Sport-Cat the best in it's market for this application, which other products should be considered? 5) Would you ship it ? |

1) The fitting is a slip/bolt on? Does it mean I can do it myself? It is a bolt on, so you could do it yourself, but I would not recommend doing so unless you have some experience working on cars. 2) Do you know where the electronic sensor is that monitors the flow/quality that may (in a catless situation) create an engine error? I'm unable to find a exhaust diagram, so I can't point out specifically where it is, but it's pretty easy to spot when you're working on the install. Below is a picture of the downpipe with the cable still connected. 3) The price of the Sport-Cat is half of the price of the whole MPE? Is it going to make such a difference to the sound to be worth the spend. The downpipe will really open up the car. The cats restrict the exhaust, so by removing the cat the exhaust is a lot more free flowing, thus it will pop and gurgle a lot more. 4) Is this Sport-Cat the best in it's market for this application, which other products should be considered? Other options to consider are the ER downpipes. Fabspeed and ER are both exceptional products. You'll be happy with either product. 5) Would you ship it ? Yes

Has anyone experienced similar backfire after installing an air intake? This loud backfire didn't happen until I installed the gruppeM intake. |

I had the unusually loud backfires from time to time, but now since I have the catless downpipe installed and running a straight through exhaust, it has turned them into gunshots lol. I have to be careful where I'm driving in Sport mode as to not scare or piss anyone off lol.

The removal of the primary cat is what creates the intense popping, crackling, and gurgling.
My suggestion is going with a Hi-Flow Catted downpipe AFE and Evolution Racewerks offer this product. Feel free to PM or email me for more information or assistance!

I just put in the Fabspeed Sportcat Downpipe, and it gives you plenty of burble, with no backfires. Might be an option for you OP.

Yes, better. Throttle response is significantly improved, reasonably meatier midrange power (for a downpipe, no tune). It's a good upgrade.
