Turbo upgrade questions

so im strongly considering a stage 1 turbo upgrade but have a few questions:

1) in terms of supporting hardware mods, would an exhaust, downpipe and chargepipe be sufficient? are the intake and FMIC really necessary or could they be added down the line?

2) vargas vs pure? any thoughts? i know a big advantage of the pure is the ability to upgrade to stage 2 but was wondering if theres anything else to consider

3) do i need to run meth? is it even worth upgrading the turbo if i don't plan on using meth?

thanks!

did you come to a conclusion as to pure vs vargas? i know the vargas stage 1 does not have a core deposit which could be helpful in a leased car.

@Luminous , with upgraded turbo and higher boost, I would suggest you to upgrade all the chargepipes.
Starting from the turbo to intercooler chargepipe then the intercooler to engine chargepipe.
Intake is also a must, you don't want reatriction on sucking the air in.
While FMIC, you can do it later. But, usually FMIC is done together with the chargepipes, since doing the chargepipes require removal of the stock intercooler.

Stage1 both pure and vargas perform the same. However while stage1 is nice to be able to rev again till 6.5k rpm instead of 5.5k rpm stock turbo you will be wanting more.

So stage2 pure clearly outperforms vtt stage2. Pure pulls till 7k rpm while vargas makes power lower in the rev range and doesnt power till redline.

Also pure gives a refund on stage1 if you upgrade to stage2.

Another thing is that vtt stage2 have known to break. I know a guy that had to send his vtt unit back 3 times. In the end he went with pure.

So imo go pure!

Pure will credit you a % of $ from STG 1 towards STG 2.
