I read it several times on the internet. Yes, the internet which is never wrong.

Multiple forums, blogs, etc said it. All of which appear to have been wrong.

I thought my car would have it, but it doesn't. I don't have any idea where that original bit of misinformation came from.

Wrong is that we don't have it, right is that we should. BMWNA has escalated this to higher ups and will have further on it in 2 to 3 days. I'll post result since I am in direct contact with that person,

I have the BMW Area rep working on it as well. I corresponded with BMW NA this entire week so far, I have expressed to them it is well stated on both the build guide and their BMWUSA website

At this point other than the alarm, what would satisfy you assuming it's impossible at this point to obtain?

Wow, I don't even know lol. I would probably tell them to buy the car back and just keep driving my Mercedes and get into the new C-class coupe in the near future. Another issue is the HK system, no Logic 7 was a huge disappointment. It wasn't listed in any of the HK descriptions, yet paid the same price as every other model

What is Logic 7?

It's the surround sound system that should be included in HK. All other series have it but the 2 series. Total disappointment, mainly because it was so misleading as the price for the option was the same.

Really? I never knew that, this is my first car with an HK sound system. I wonder why they would ditch it on the 2 series....

HK webpage for 2 series states it does have logic 7. The 2 series just doesn't have the option to turn it on or off like I could in my 128

wow weird how HK shows it BMW doesn't. I have had m5, 640, 128, 228, 335, it was only called logic 7 in the 7 series. Yes I had surround in the m5 and the 640, but it WAS NOT called logic 7. What did you have it on? The m5 had an awesome factory system called DIRAC.

You guys....

Go check to see if the alarm chirp is off. I don't know if the chirping is set to be off by default.

There's an option in the menu to turn it on or off.

BTW, I'm not assuming that all of you guys don't know how to work the menu. I'm just hoping that this solves your problem. That's all.

Of course the definitive test would be to roll down your windows, lock the car, then try opening the doors from the inside to see if the alarm goes off.

BTW I just checked the website and the online configurator. There's no "alarm" option or package listed anywhere. I will assume that the alarm is standard and not an option.

If you configure a 228i on the site, then go to the summary last page, you'll see standard equipment in blue as a link, click on, then look toward bottom of page you'll see the alarm.

Also all BMW alarmed cars all have the keyfob with panic button on bottom of fob, ours don't!

I have a funny feeling there will be a service Bulletin sometime soon.
