Are you still running the stock charge pipe? Any logs of the run? Nice times for sure.

I am jealous. What was the air temp outside? Curious.

Just to compare pretty close to apples to apples with almost identical setup of catless downpipes, E30 gas, and JB4 RWD with drag radials vs AWD on stock run flats. RWD was on map 7 I think and AWD was on map 5.

RWD Xdrive
60 ft 1.77 1.61
1/8 mile 7.64 7.45
mph 91.3 93.3
1/4 mile 11.94 11.75
mph 114 116

This was a debate on another post, but it's rather shocking that the 2 mph difference between the 2 continues through the end of the 1/4, you'd think the RWD would have a higher trap. AWD guy may be making better power w/map 5?Hard to say, but that usually shows up in the trap speed. 116 for AWD is pretty solid. Also shows the advantage of JB4 over stage 1 tunes when you play around with the gas mixture. Nice run.

Wow!
Great run!

The RWD was my car.
What was the DA?
Although I hear turbo cars are less affected.
Based on the trap I would say the AWD is making more power than mine especially if it weighs more.
Any dyno numbers?

Also typically every 0.1 60ft gain translates to 0.2 ET gain and the higher trap may be good for 0.1 gain .
So,I would have expected a >0.2 gain in ET.

11.639

I improved my time slightly (11.639) with brake torqueing and got video. A big thanks to my gal for coming out to help. This is with the same tank of fuel, just less of it in the tank.

I am still running the stock charge pipe.

I don’t have any logs. I always intend to, but end up just running.

I don’t know what the DA was but the air quality was very good in my opinion.

My tire pressure is whatever stock is, somewhere in the low 30’s I think. I didn’t change it, but probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to get some better traction. Run flats may not care though with the stiff sidewall. You can hear the tires spinning off the line, so some better tires might help. Maybe the missing link to get the 1.605 60’ into the 1.5’s.

I don’t have any dyno numbers. I can’t find a dyno shop that is open for dyno runs on the weekend. They all seem to be open 8-6 during the weekdays which doesn’t work for me. I’d love to get it dynoed so if anyone knows of good shop with an awd dyno in the Chicago or Milwaukee area that runs on the weekend please let me know.

My trap speed was down a little bit, but I noticed this is typical when I hot lap the car (which is what this was). I typical lose 1-3mph.

Wasn't there a thread a couple of days ago where some guy was crying about how shitty the runflats were? Lol

In any case, GREAT times!!

yes, that was me....
the runcraps were on a RWD car.....not AWD...

so basically theyre good when using all 4, but when using for rears, NOT soo much..... and im speaking from real world test....not hear say etc...

i drove the rwd 235i on the runflats, and they sucked, they spun like hell in 1st gear and felt floaty after acceleration. now on awd, i cant give an opinion, as i havnt driven them on an awd 235i......
but from the looks of this video here, i would say that they seem to work good, but only for awd .

now that i think of it.... the runflats are not as wide as teh mpss, thats prob another factor.....

so, runflats, not as sticky, not as wide .... = not good for rwd, hence, why bmw uses the mpss for the rwd cars, unless possibly its for northern states that need all season type tires...

So are you shifting your self and if so at what rpm?
I just let the auto shift in sport plus but noticed it redlines at 7000 rpm before shifting which may be too high.
My car was trapping 113-114 last fall when it ran 11.9 but so far this year it has gone no faster than 12.4@110.
I did the firmware update but I am hoping it is the heat- DA has been around 3500.
Map 2 runs faster than map 7 with E35?
Did some street logs and Terry said they were okay .
Got multiple logs last week at the strip with map 5,7 runs I have not yet sent .
