Can I get an explanation......
I have a small question to ask. When we switch between comfort and sport what exactly changes in our M235i.
What other thing on a vehicle can cause it to change timing.? |

Depends on how you set up sport mode in the iDrive. By default you'll get a different throttle map, the steering will tighten up, and so will the adaptive suspension. The exhaust valve will open and the active sound will get louder as well. Sport+ is the same a sport but the traction control system will allow a little wheel spin. Last thing, if you have the auto stop/start system enabled it will get disabled when you go in to sport mode.

Thank you for that clarification. I ask because I want to get opinions on what my M is experiencing. I feel that my M235i is really lagging in power in the last three to four weeks.
It's not running smooth like it used to. When I step on the gas I get a considerable amount of turbo lag and I also get the exhaust gases smell coming into the cabin from the outside during heavy acceleration. Do you guys know of possible sources that could cause car behaviors like the one my M235i is experiencing. |

Bad gas - did it occur after a refill or did you use a sketchy station just before the problem.
Dealer diagnostics either stationary in the shop or 'flight mode' real time while driving should pick up those symptoms easily |

Now jb4 is another story. Very inconsistent at times unless you get a downpipe with an intercooler. I wouldnt mind returning jb4 and getting ecu flash frim gsr but jb4 does have map control which is nice. The turbo lag at times though really sucks, but on map 7 on race fuel when it kicks in,it just pulls. And that's without a downpipe |

My M235i was build on June 2014 which I think puts it outside of the TSB for the fuel pump problem right. I only used three (3) types of gas Chevron, Shell, or Exxon. Can it be something in the exhaust system that is causing the ECU to adjust the behavior of the car that is making it slow.
I'm having my first service on my M235i in about three weeks, I'm going to mention it to the service consultant so they can check. |

Do you guys know to remove the clamp that attaches the down pipe maybe, to the long pipe that runs all the way to the exhaust. It seems to me that the gases are coming from there. I'm taking some pictures of the area, so I can hear what you guys think.
