EWG Wires Melting?

I had mine wrapped in the same tubing black tubing normally found on the jb4 but still had it melt slightly. I just relocated the wiring so it stays as far away from the manifold as possible, praying that this will work lol

Anyone else experience melting EWG wires? Is this fully preventable with strategic placement of the wires?

Hi - I wrapped the 2 EWG wires individual with cloth tape for about 2' from the EWG connector. Put the pair full length in some black plastic conduit and routed behind heatshield. Have checked a couple of times and so far conduit looks OK so wires inside must be too. BP

Hm... I'll give it a shot with that cloth tape. Do you mind posting a link to what you used?

I used the same tubing as the jb4 but that didn't work out so well. However, I didn't have it routed as far away as possible from the manifold.

Yeah I did, he said it should not melt as long as it doesn't touch the manifold but it hasn't been long enough for me to test that conjecture. My installer and I didn't think it would be able to hold up, regardless of how the wire was routed.

Are you experiencing melting?

This has been reported many times.. due diligence should tell not rest the PLASTIC tubing on a manifold that will easy see 1000f+ deg air flowing within it!!!

Agree with Terry. Make sure it does not touch the manifold and you should be good.

No issues here after running it for a few months... But I'll look into preemptive solutions. Thanks for the heads up!
