Repeat customer is highly dependent on the morals of the dealer. if i go after a M2 I will see how BMW of Columbia performs this time around. When I approached Hendrick on Independence as a repeat customer they tried to work me over on my trade that I purchased from them earlier and also would not flex on the pricing of the 235. Just my 3/4 cents......

It was and is the reason for now looking at other dealers. It's unfortunate. Up until this time the dealer has taken good care of me including sales and service. Though I would still go back to them for the latter.

Agree. Within the last 2-years this would include 2013 M3 coupe (sold), 2015 X3 (spouse) and my current 4GC.

Accordingly it's the decision from management believing, like the 1M, it will be a limited production vehicle.

Shouldn't matter IMHO. People are getting GT4's for MSRP. I don't think it would be ridiculous for you to at least be able to put your name down with a refundable deposit.

For what it's worth, my name is in with no money down. Find another dealership

I was told by my local dealer $500 refundable. I have no past relationship with them.

Another one told me they had no list cause it was uncertain if the m2 was even coming to North America lol either he was totally out of touch or was hoping to sell me something now.

Asking for a non-refundable deposit on what will probably be a somewhat limited and highly demand car is pure greed on the salesman's part. There is zero liability on the dealer at this point with no actual order having been submitted. Even if it was after the order was submitted, I would have no doubt they would be able to find another buyer with ease.

I got on my dealers list last night. #13. I will probably go to another local dealer just to be on two lists.

They aren't taking deposits because they really have no clue when it's coming and they don't think it's fair to take deposits until at least the SOP reappears in the system. They reassured me this is standard procedure for them and they work with lists all the time. It's a big dealership so I will believe them for now.

There is very little truth in this thread, and the post above is one of the few examples.

I still can't believe you let that red beauty go. I'm still contemplating getting one and you let it go...for a 435GC of all things. Fascinating if in a head scratching sort of way...

I know! I'm not too worried though. There will likely be a few people backing out and I don't think it will be that limited.

time to find another dealer. Sounds like this dealer will also add a 10K markup with any chance they get.... and they will happily take your 2K non refundable deposit when you turn down the markup.

if you are going to put down a 2K deposit... I wouldn't do so until the FULL order can be placed in the system with pricing so that they don't mess with you.

JasonCSU had a an agreed on deal on a 1M with a Colorado dealer that normally didn't charge markups.. he was a returning customer as well.. and his handshake deal for MSRP suddenly became a markup deal and he walked.

I honestly cannot wait until the reviews hit. Something tells me the people that are writing that around will magically vanish.

I sat in one of their M235 convertibles. Nice car and great bang for the buck.

Per my conversation with the SM and CA, pricing would be fixed at MSRP less any available incentives. That I can live with for the initial rollout. A $2k or $1k non-refundable deposit, no. I can understand if an order was placed and it was Individual. I have calls into other area dealers. If it doesn't happen, I'll wait a year and plan ED (as my schedule will not allow it for CY2016).

No. Unveil hopefully in October, with first delivery in the beginning of 2016 (at least in Europe anyway).

I agree with you except that I needed a car with a range greater than 230 miles. The 435iGC, while not on the same performance or emotional level as the E9x M3, is a competent vehicle. I'm sure the majority of drivers would be thrilled to be driving it. Though for me, I do miss the overall experience of a true M car.

I will be taking delivery of a new JGC Summit on Friday to use as a DD. This will serve to support home projects, dog mobile and to haul my skies and mountain bike. I will (hopefully) transfer the lease on the 4GC and order a M2 for spring/summer delivery.

Funny enough, when at the Jeep dealership last week they had a 09 M3 coupe in Melbourne Red in their showroom. I did pause for a moment and reflected on the car that I once had in my garage.

I understand the dilemma you were faced with. I'm waiting for the release of the M2 and possible 100yr anniversary "surprise" prior to deciding on an ///M
