M4 GTS - Bespoke Hood Bonnet

Did I see this right? M4 GTS gets its own bespoke bonnet (ok the reveal is a concept) now that is one low production volume car. Yet the M2 still isn' getting a bespoke hood, we expect (insert caveat), going to have a bonnet any different from a 218D etc!

I think there's loads more reveal to come from the M2. Surely?

Now if your reply to this is that it's Pyrat2, and it must follow that formulae then I just don't agree it has to be an identical formulae to be a fun car! It's an M, should show a lot of flare and aggression, more than slightly interesting and wider curves,

Only thing I think of now is that the M2 will be very very very competitively priced now.....which makes little sense for such a low volume, we assume, car?

I find this a bit baffling? Make a low volume car but realist elf inexpensive? Why now go all out and make it a premium mini performance beast and charge?

I'm sure I'm vastly wrong on many levels and just need to wait and be impressed. I have faith in BMW and M division but I won't blindly laud the M2....let's see!

The M4 GTS is something completely different since it will be expensive as hell...

The use of a carbon fiber reinforced plastic hood as opposed to a pure carbon fiber has me hopeful for the M2 since it doesn't have the traditional look of carbon fiber, BMW would have to paint it, so there is the possibility of the M2 having a CFRP roof. I know I'll be ripped by some people on here but BMW is the largest producer of carbon fiber in the world so I am under the belief that they will want to start taking advantage of their investment.

Yes great point, BMW were bugging up their own production of CFRP, I can't believe an M2 won't have extensive use of it.

Sorry but not even close. BMW IS NOT the largest producer for CF of any kind. Toray Industries in Japan is.

One of their websites. Must have been an old figure or perhaps just one of their plants. I see another now that states they produce 27,000 tons across four plants.

Also, i know that BMW is looking to expand that 9,000 Metric ton figure, and in the next ten years could be over 20,000 tons of carbon fiber a year.

Regarding the original post, new parts costs money and this car is supposed to be low cost. I'm just curious to see what starting price is. The Cayman is $52k to start and apparently this will be more than that.

Yeah, thinking of UK starting Cayman prices, pretty sure even my M235i with loads of M Perf kit was more. M2 definitely more than a base Cayman. Different car for me though as I have 2 nippers.
