So basically this 235 someone made probably a full conversion to an M2 because BMW din't make a M2 convertible them self.

So correct me if i'm wrong the "real" M2 shares the same engine as the m235i? The most components are the same except they lifted over some stuff from the M3/4 to the M2.

We can only assume this guy has done the same he made a full conversion of his m235i to M2? I don't see a problem here to be honest, As far as i am concern this is a legit M2 if he has done all his homework.

You M fanatics have a funny way of calling your cars "M" if you are that anal about people using the M2 badge then you should start calling the 235i the M235i witch was its release name whether you like it or not, you see that little "M" in front of the 235i? Start using that, Or is it the "M-Mirrors" that define the "M" for you?`Like the massive as whining that was because the M2 din't get the "M-mirrors" from start, is that an real "M" when it has those?

Or is it now amazingly changed that your "M" car is truly an "M" because it won't devaluate as much as a "M235i?" at sale?

Or how about those that modify there own "real M2s" with new suspension instead of the original ones are they not the real M2 anymore? Maybe this guy has better stuff in the car then the M2 has standard then what? He has a better M2 then anyone to start with from the beginning.

I personally love this car.

It is not an M2 because the 2er Convertible body will not allow the same braces that are fitted to the 2er Coupe at the ///M Bodyshop. Therefore the M2 Convertible is not really possible even if BMW wanted it to be.

That said I have slightly more patience for this kind of work when BMW doesn't make a car. So this is not great IMO but worse is converting to something they do make. Like 235 coupe to M2 conversion, 3 series to M3 etc.

Agree- I file this with the E90 M3 wagon conversions.

you're butt sore because your "real" E46M3 gets smoked by a minivan from light to light and has horrible MPG.

BMW unveiled yesterday the X4 M40i, the M Performance Automobile also powered by a revised N55 unit. Looking at the specs, the engine of the BMW X4 M40i is a close relative of the engine for the BMW M2 F87

The X4 M40i came out a few years ago (I purchased it). What you saw is the LCI version. The X4 has the same engine as the M2.

They are also releasing the X4M and X3M. Those are supposed to be the "real M's".
