JB+ vs Dinantronics Sport
What is the difference between the JB+ and the Dinantronics Sport. From what I've read, JB+ is $100 cheaper and Dinantronics Sport has Bluetooth app controls. Any other differences?
Since these both work with all engines, I wasn't sure where to post. |

They do the same thing and plug into the same sensor to fool it into more boost. The only difference as you mentioned is how to adjust the boost bluetooth or manually with box and if bluetooth is worth $100 to you. They will drive no different if both are set to the same boost setting, why would they with a 1 sensor tune, no other parameters are being manipulated to finesse things?

During this thread ( ::rolls eyes HARD:: ), I dug some and came up with this regarding each for the N20:
Dinantronics Sport: At minimum on Sport+, it provides an extra 24 HP and 34 ft-lbs on an otherwise stock N20. JB+: At minimum, it provides an extra 24 HP and 33.5 ft-lbs on an otherwise stock N20. Differences for the N55 may be more pronounced, but I doubt it. They both provide basically the same benefit, and use the same sensor to fool. The differences between the two, then, are: - As most BMS products do, the JB+ provides its peak gains significantly higher in the rev band than does the Dinantronics Sport, which generally focuses on keeping power and torque as flat as possible. - The Dinantronics Sport's settings are controllable on the fly via Bluetooth by an iOS/Android app. The JB+ must be adjusted manually using a screwdriver. - The Dinantronics Sport has significantly longer leads, which allows for more mounting options than the JB+, which has leads so short that mounting it to the TMAP sensor's wiring loom is really the only option. FYI: I chose the Dinantronics Sport, which I'll be installing early next week. Hope this helps.

I have the Dinan Sport on my N20 X3 and a Dinan Stage on my 235. Go with the Dinan Sport tune.

I really want the dinan sport tune when it comes out for 230 but its hard to add a 300 dollar part which is may/going to void my warranty. It would make the car so much more fun to drive with some low end tq.

I got mine for $240 (Black Friday 20 percent off Dinan sale at getBMWparts.com). So it can (almost) happen.

BMW won't void anything if you're going in for maintenance and what not (unless that dealership is just ridiculous? Then you can just take your vehicle elsewhere). If you have an engine problem and they see the P+P then perhaps, as long as they show it was caused by the increase in boost in this case. However, this point is moot since these are so easy to remove there's no reason why you should have to take it in with the unit installed.

... and there you go trolling on a rainy Sunday afternoon looking to pick a fight in a thread with no posts in three days that was all but answered and done. You were put in place in that thread I linked to. You're fast, you've got money, you've got plenty of mods experience. That doesn't equate to having intelligence, tact, fairness, or superiority over those who don't want to be just like you, or have a car just like yours, or whatever. If you funneled all that negative energy you pour into fueling your machismo and butthurt into helping others solve issues, you'd probably solve a few of your own. Just sayin'.

My dealer (Dinan certified) installed the Dinan sport tuner on race (+4 psi)
and it runs great. What a bargain for $275.
