Color preference

Ordering M240i Cabriolet with black top. I'm torn between Alpine white and Mineral white. Which color would you prefer and why? Thanks

I would probably go mineral. The metal flake will add some dimension. Alpine white is a little to reminiscent of an appliance color.

Another vote for Mineral White. It looks great in person.

Alpine white is a much easier color to touch up and match if that matters to you.

Alpine White is free. Plus I think it looks better with black contrast parts like kidney grills, wheels, mirror caps, etc.

I have mineral white on my coupe and I like it very much.
But if I went with a black soft top I'm not sure which color I would get. I'd really need to see the cars in person.

I went with alpine white.

Main reasons:
- Metallic colours are a pain to properly touch up. It will never be like OEM paint if you have to repair something.
- Save $800 for something I didn't care.
- The white of alpine white is "whiter" than the mineral white.

+1 for mineral white. Such a nice colour, and on a rag top would look fantastic IMO.

Mineral white since it hides dirt and swirls a bit better.

I like both and my 370Z was Pearl White and that was a gorgeous car. For me the decision would depend on what appearance mods you will do. If you like silver wheels and chrome trim, I'd go with mineral white. If you like black wheels etc., I'd go for alpine white.

Mineral White really pops and shadows the body lines quite a bit better than Alpine White. I absolutely love the color teamed with Coral Red interior. Sporty and classy.

i have MW, i think it is probably the best looking color other than MG. it adds a lot more depth to the car than AW, and it doesnt take too much maintenance to keep it looking clean.

i also have black wheels, black lip and black grille and think it goes perfectly with MW.

I went alpine white for 2 reasons.

1. It's a more pure white
2. It didn't cost an extra $550 (I think it's even more now)

Can I vote for neither? Seems like every other car on the road is some shade of white, with most of the rest a shade of gray. Pick an actual color - live a little!

That said, I prefer plain Alpine white to the metallic white. It's $550 cheaper, and touching up/matching metallic white is a horror show if it is ever necessary.

And THAT said, if you do choose the metallic white, IMHO the brown top looks much better with it.

It's so subjective, but for me, I agree with you on all points. And, with that brown top, I'd get Terra or Oyster interiors.

White looks great. I have Estoril/Oyster with orbit grey rims and black top. Estoril was my #1 choice and I didn't care about the premium when your are looking at the overall cost of the car.

I wanted Alpine White, but my wife wanted Glacier Silver. Guess who won? At least the silver with the coral interior looks good. Car is now in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean due at the dealer 12/15. Do I seem anxious?
