M235IX rear wing spoiler
I'm considering adding a rear wing to my 2016 Dinan IV M235IX black sapphire coupe. Thanks to input I have trashed the head/tail light tinting idea. Your input is important to me as I'm new to making modifications to my vehicle (excluding Dinan stage IV) and this forum. I love the look of the M4 GTS and would like to replicate. Not only appearance but aerodynamic benefit on the track. Looking at various rear wings with prices $100's to well over $5k. I am prepared to drill holes in my trunk lid and even priced out a replacement should I desire to go back to original. Let me know your opinions and slap me back in-line if this sounds like (another) mistake. Considering Spyder Double-Deck GT wing spoiler; Thanks!

none of the above.
by a civic if you want to rice out a car. You already spent too much money on a car that will get spanked by a jb4 tune.

Funny thing about these spoilers: they really need to be properly designed for a particular car and installed in an extreemly precise manner to be effective. Most aftermarket spoilers are never wind-tunnel tested, let alone tested on every possible vehicle. You may think they look cool, but unless they are properly designed and installed, they tend to be ineffective at creating downforce (at least, not any more than they would by putting that weight in the trunk) and they create a heck of a lot of drag and can actually create instability as the drag created isn't always even between the left and right side of the spoiler. When it comes to spoilers, fractions of a degree can make a huge impact.
In my experience, they also tend to be cheaply made. I've seen aftermarket spoilers which can be flexed by hand, and I've seen spoilers which jiggle more than jello over bumps at speeds of 30mph on public roads. What kind of aerodynamic effect do you think you get out of a structure which can'y handle the slightest of bumps at 30mph?

Thanks!!! that was easy. Speaking of the JB4, besides the sig cost difference and warranty stuff would it be compatible with the Dinan Sport-tuner with stage IV tuner (as I write this it sounds as if I've been scammed??) as well as the Dinan CAI/exhaust/intercooler?
Badges (Dinan, etc.) are carry-over from Army career however much easier to earn, LOL. |
