I guess that you mean that the 2er will have the F2X platform? It might have been a misunderstanding from my side but I just hope they are not going to fit the 2er on the E8X platform from 2004.

IMHO, if they get the 2-series right, there's a world where it's their best selling car (ala 3-series from 95-2000).

Yes please tell us. This is what we really want BMW to build. With the amg cla out and Audi s/rs3, BMW has to put out a true M variant.

The CLA just seems odd especially on the rear end so for me this has to better than the Audi A3 Sedan. Still as ugly as folks say the F30 is they're selling well so with a sensible face lift I expect the 2GC to do well.

Is that an M Sport badge on the Audi's fender? BMW really IS using them too much!

Why does that A3 look like it's been involved in an accident? The area behind the rear wheel looks hit.

That's what the F30 should have looked like.

This will be my replacement to my e46. They will be similar in size. So I am interested in this grand coupe in particular because there will be no 2 series sedan and the current 3 is a little to big for my tastes. Any new 1 series sedan (if there is one) would be FWD so that's a no go. So if you want a small RWD bmw sedan. This will be your ticket.

Normally I agree with this statement.

But this is actually one Gran Coupe I am some what interested in, since this will be the smallest 4 door BMW sold.

I wouldn't mind an E46 sized 4-door.

I am not an E36 owner.. but there are plenty of E36 owners that feel the same way. they would like an E36 sized 4 dr.

the new A3/S3 is a major disappointment in terms of design. I had a deposit down to order one and canceled it after the official reveal. It is a generic Audi sedan by the numbers-----has no character at all. My fear is that the 2-series is going to be the same----a BMW by numbers miniaturized 3-series copy. The spy shots of te 2er coupe support this theory.

Thank god it lost the butt ugly headlights of the new 1 series!
Still waiting for the M2
Hope it's a better product than the 435/M435/M3/M4
I.e. not a rehash of an existing model with some extra M badges thrown on it

This will effectively be the revival of the E46 sedan. Definitely looking forward to this, and glad that BMW is back to making reasonably-sized RWD sedans.

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!

As long as there is an M235, there will be no M2. The M235 is supposed to be faster than the 1M which was almost as fast as the M3 so there is no room for an M2 between the M235 and M4.

Why is BMW doing this garbage? If anything it'll resemble an E90 on exterior footprint is my guess. Just leave it as a damn coupe, same thing with the 435GC, give it a rest!

Because people are asking for a smaller 4-door than the current F30 3 series.
