Intake

Hey guys, i have a straight forward question..
what is the best intake in terms of pure performance, hp and torque gains, less heat soak and best air flow.

Hope you can help, im missing the intake and intercooler to become FBO🖖🏻🖖🏻🖖🏻

I went with the BMS one also. It's not a huge difference between intakes when it comes to power.

Intakes for our cars provide minimal horsepower gains. I am a huge fan of the aFe intake since it is fully enclosed to prevent things such as heat soaking.

Ive heard that about the afe on preventing heat soaking too.. also eventhough the bms shows more hp gains, the afe has better airflow. I think im going to go with the afe since there is hot weather most of the time here.

My recommendation would definitely be the aFe, especially in your situation.

I thought there were studies on this that basically debunk the heat soak for intakes on turbo cars.

I can speak from my experience that heat soaking is definitely a real thing.

I'm running the OEM M2 lower airbox (basically a whole cut in the front of the box) and an intake scoop. I love it. I can hear a bit more turbo and induction noise. I can't say there's been a power increase though. The sound is worth it though.

On an FBO car, intake will add 5-10 whp after 5000 RPM ... It will also add a very nice sound to the car.

Our most popular choices are the Injen and BMS intakes

What kind of intercooler are you looking for?

I had the BMS with JB4 on map 1. I was getting some hesitation in acceleration after installing it, it wasn't all the time but it started to make power unpredictable. After a few months I decided to take it off, never experienced the issue again.

BMS was telling me it was a MAF issue and suggested taking the MAF out. They suggest running it without one and making the JB4 remove the code not running a MAF would cause automatically. I wasn't a fan of that solution so I decided to not reinstall it.

Im running JB4 w/ Chargepipe, FMIC, DP, and exhaust on map 2. I'd say I'm FBO without the intake... I do plan on using a drop in though. If whooshing sounds aren't important to you... I'd say skip it all together, gains from the intake aren't noticeable enough. Also with the gain in hp I've seen in dynos there is also a drop in tq. That said the BMS intake did sound awesome and I completely understand why so many people run it.

They have 2 different models, The Magnum Force with the vented lid and the PRO with no lid. Which one are you liking?

Hey mike, im running jb4 on map 2 with catless dp and cp, also have mpe. Now looking for intake and intercooler.
In my intercooler choices i had the forge intercooler, the vrsf and apparently dinan has come up with a new dual core design which interests me too.

With your mods i recommend a 6" intercooler ... Something like Wagner EVO 2, VRSF 6" High density or Evolution Racewerks

Why do you recommend a 6" intercooler in specific?

Because you are FBO so you will be pushing a lot of power + you live in a hot country if im not mistaken ... The extra core size will give you better temperature control

i like my Injen. Sounds good which really is about all you're going to notice with an intake. I got a cel shortly after install, but just as others before a little maf cleaner from AutoZone took care of it and I haven't looked back since.
