Behind dash rattle - and access
I have a behind the dash rattle. It sounds plastic, happens most when the road has a jiggly surface, location seems to be to the right of the steering wheel behind the dash somewhere. (UK car). It reduces in the cold weather.
How do I look behind the dash? thanks |

Funny enough I've got one which is behind the glove box so on the opposite side. Not tackled it yet buy YouTube had a video about access.
For you try taking the air vent out between steering wheel and door. It just pulls out. You can get access to a fair bit through there. Also removing the instrument cluster is surprisingly easy and will probably be more what you need. |

I used this video if I recall correctly and an LED flexi probe flashlight.
Did break a tab behind the radio or HVAC but everything replaced tightly. In the end it was just time and the rattle went away after a few months. My dash disassemble didn't help. |

Thanks for the tips. I can get the air vent, light cluster and little glove box out, all just pull out pretty straightforwardly. I used a plastic ruler to start them off, but still haven't found the rattle. Wondering if I should try the door card next.

I have narrowed it down to being inside the A pillar, about knee height when driving.
So does anyone know of any plastic fittings/flaps hiding in there? thanks |
