228i vs. m235i Downpipe Placement

So I have a little dilemma on my hands. I just bought a used custom exhaust online (currently being shipped to me) and noticed based off old pictures that the seller actually has a 228i (debadged so I didn't notice) and not an m235i. The exhaust is a quad tip so he had his car converted to fit it but my question is if the location of the downpipe is different on the 228i. If it is then the exhaust will either be too long/too short/ or completely off when I try to install it on my m235i. Does anyone know the placement on both models?

worst case, bring it to a local muffler shop to cut up and make fit.

Looks similar, but no guarantees...

I was looking at the same diagrams earlier, I really hope it works to save some time and money. Thanks Bryan!

I thought you guys where talking about downpipes?

I dont think it will fit, on his car the DP has the angle downwards to frontpipe on our car its the frontpipe as seen above.

Here is what you are bolting on to:

Yeah thats interesting... I was wondering how that fit on his. The BMW dealership was no help. No one in the service or shop knew the answer, they told me I'd find out during the install...

Does that clamp 4 (Right Picture) come on our car stock? or is it just in that diagram to show where people should cut to remove the resonator? I think my new exhaust would clamp there but I think my car is straight pipe there with no clamp.

Wont work, return or sell the downpipe and get a proper one instead
