What options do you wish were available but are not?
I thought this would be a good thread because I know our friends at BMW monitor the forum. Perhaps if enough customers want something it will be added.
Our list is as follows: Heads up display-there was another thread that mentioned that an aftermarket heads up display is going to be available, but it's interesting that a heads up display is an option in the new mini but not here. Blind spot monitor-especially for the convertible when the top is up there is a sizable blind spot. Active cruise control Deep sea blue available on the 235. Higher powered optional audio system Top and side view cameras-we have it on our x5 Neck warmer for the convertible-we have it on our Mercedes SLK and it extends the top down season. |

The addition of basic gauges including coolant temperature, oil temperature and oil pressure. Also, turbo boost in PSI would be nice, too.
As to our present cars, I still believe all of the above could be displayed on the LCD screen "Sports" with a firmware upgrade. I suggested this idea to BMW and it fell on deaf ears.

Instrument cluster with extended contents outside of tech package. I don't need GPS, use my phone for that. I didn't get tech package but would have definitely gotten this.

I know everyone is going to EPS to save a fraction of an MPG by removing the parasitic power drain on the engine, but why not an electrically-powered hydraulic pump? Best of both worlds and you still get the steering feel of a real car. |

I'd add: Digital speedometer standard - I hate that I have to go back to analog Alcantara seat option VALENCIA ORANGE IN THE M235i - curse you BMW, for teasing with VO in 228s then denying in 235s

Some of these are options, other are just slight improvements.
-HUD -Oil Temp gauge -Active Cruise Control -Foot-operated trunk opener -Alcantara -Seat cooler -Extendable visors -Stronger nub on the cruise control thumb wheel (mine's tearing already) -40/20/40 rear seat split (like non-US folks have) -Remove package tray in rear seat -Slightly bigger center armrest storage -Move inside door handle back on door about 6 inches for better leverage and holding on. -Add overhead "oh sh*t" handle for my wife -Pull iDrive, replace with Apple CarPlay -Better button placement (some buttons are tacked on inelegantly) -More rim options -More paint color options -A much better stereo (HK really dropped the ball on this one) -Oil dipstick -Spare tire -Better gas filler opening (mine requires me to hold nozzles "gangsta style" (sideways) to keep the auto-shutoff form triggering early) -Fully codeable via the car interface vs. black ops hacking (fold mirror on lock, Default to Sport+ upon startup) -Remote start, remote heater/AC start -A new "Performance" setting that's tighter suspension than the current "Sport" (see my earlier thread) I LOVE me my car, but adding a tiny bit more polish/options in these areas would be perfection. |

- On/off option for the artificial engine sound
- BT audio streaming - Select "Sport" as the default mode - Let the paddle-shifters do something useful--like volume control. |
