According to the information I have, it should stay as an M235i for MY16. I doubt there will be any differences in the cars from 15 to 16

I was told that the "Engineering Data/Release" is the EPA certification. I've also been told that sometimes it takes anywhere from 2-7 weeks to get certified!

I wonder if for some reason perhaps the X drive components as used in the 228 are not strong enough for the more powerful engine, or simply will not fit with the longer six-cylinder engine? Someone mentioned in another thread that the 3 Series X drive cars have more ground clearance versus the rear wheel drive cars, but that is not the case with the 2 series. Perhaps that is a clue as to what the issue is?
