Car and Driver M2 Website Rating Update
Not going to lie, I check this once a day and now I see a star rating.
http://www.caranddriver.com/bmw/m2 Hopefully this is not a repost somewhere, but Car and Driver already gave it 5 stars, and I assume this is not a glitch in the //Matrix? Not like the S3 and CLA45 were much competition anyway but LOL. I assume their review will also be coming soon?

Yeah, the article remains the same. I wasn't expecting there to be any changes in the content, but the rating and it's placement amongst the comparable compact sports cars caught my eye because it wasn't a formal pole position holder before.

Agreed, because 11pm seems to be the preferred time here in Europe #embargo although the joke motoring media such as auto bild / auto express tend to pull the trigger first.

r/BMW is an interesting place. 25% of people know what they are talking about, 75% of people are young kids without much car knowledge, who happened to pick up a used e90. It's a fun place though. |

FWIW, it didn't get the coveted Car & Driver "Editors Choice" award. At least it would appear, among then three, the Audi S3 got that award.
That's what I think the symbol is next to the 5 stars in the Audi S3 pic. I could be wrong, though. |

Reviews are gonna all be the same - great car, best BMW has made in a while, not as beastly as M3, excellent balance, wish we got the 6MT to test, color is horrendous.
(That last part may {definitely is} or may not be accurate )

Perhaps the lack of an emblem is part of the lacking initial details. Or maybe because of the price, as C&D usually does.

I recall waiting up for the F80/82 reviews and then it was all a little bit meh. Seemed to be cool to have a pop at the M car introduction of turbos. Then it got compared with 911 CS's too! All got a bit mad and prepare yourself for FORUM WAR AND METDOWN.
Its was M5/6 vs M3/4 back then and now it will be M3/4 justification vs M2. Tough times ahead forum chums.

Pretty much all reviews are positive for new cars from Car and Driver in isolation. They know better than to bite the hands that feed them and sour a new car launch.
You usually get the most honest reviews with the comparos that come 6-12 months later, and/or when a competitor releases a newer offering and the older car is compared to that. It's like some unwritten rule that you hype up the new offering but can be more honest after the honeymoon period. There will be outliers but it usually never fails. For example, the truth is coming out on the deficiencies of the newer Mustang (once almost perfect?) as its compared to the new Camaro. Watch all the issues with the Golf R (still perfect) come out as the Focus RS hype builds, etc. Just how it seems to work. All first takes will be glowing for M2. |

Is this a BMW thing, as if the wait for the car wasn't bad enough, they torture us with an embargo on the reviews.... I need a fix!!! :
