Loves on the Wrangler:

1. driving with the top down in the summer
2. driving on any terrain in any type of weather condition
3. friendly Jeep waves to other Wranglers

Can't really say I disliked much about the car. If I could, I would keep it forever and take it out on the occasional nice day or plow through the snow when the conditions called for 4 wheel drive.

But, after aging about 10 years, I'm feeling the need to upgrade to something a bit more luxurious, fitted with better technology (coming from a manual windows and locks), and better performance. My wallet will also enjoy the increase in gas mileage.
Congrats! Coming from a Jeep Wrangler to a BMW 228i, WOW! Prepare for a completely new driving style, it's inevitable. Make with the details, how did you option your 228i?

Haha Thanks! Yea pretty radical change. I'm confident it won't take too long though to feel right at home in the driver seat.

Went with the M sport, premium package, tech package, and heated seats. Coming from the roll down windows on my Wrangler, I feel a bit spoiled.

Wow, so it's not gonna be too much of a change for you, right ? I mean ... in terms of engine power, actual (vs apparent) car dimensions, and the interior layout. I'd also be interested in finding out what kind of resale value you'd get on the 135. Lease or purchase ? Trade in or private party sale ?

Though I will say - I saw a 135 in my company parking lot today ... it was a neat little thing, with a lot of emphasis on "little" ! It does look very different from the 2 series. But, I had a peek at the interior ... pretty much the same as what we're all gonna be driving soon.

Not too much change. Of course, the 235 looks much better, and when I took one on a test drive, it really reminded me of the E46 M3 I had in the past. I have the DCT in the 135- first car I've had without a manual, but I really liked it. The 8 speed auto in the 235 felt nearly identical, so I decided to go with that instead of back to manual. I also loved the suspension in the 235. BMW fixed the things I wasn't completely satisfied with in the 135, but it is great fun to drive. Test drove an Audi S4 before I got the 135, and felt the 135 was much more fun to drive, so went with it. Like I said, the 235 is very much like the E46 M3, but the torque, to me anyway, makes it more fun to drive than the M3- really had to rev the shit out of the M3 to get going. The 235 seems like an evolution of the E46 M3.

The ole ZHP. She's for sale, and she'll be missed dearly. I think I'm going to miss the N/A i6 grunt and noise. Hopefully the 235i will be raw(er) like my 330i is.

The throttle noise from 3,500+RPM is just so clean and bassey. I think I'll miss that in the 235i..

2003 MINI Cooper R50 5-speed is the daily driver. 2005 Mustang GT is in the garage with a cover on it for the past month and a half or so. The M235i will be the new garage queen soon!

I also have a Kawasaki Z1000 that will come out of hibernation when the weather breaks - that's the vehicle of choice when I have the need for some serious speed. 0 to 60 in 2.7 seconds; 1/4 mile 10.38 @ 129.61 mph.

Remind me - why is your wait so long, again ? I know you mentioned, in response to one of my first posts here, that your wait is about 6 months. Why ?

I thought this would be a fun topic to revive while I wait for my ED pickup in two months, as others that also ordered 2016s may be in the same boat. I'm still driving my 2001 Maxima SE and am hoping it lasts the ~four months or whatever it will be until my M235i eventually arrives back in the states; it's the only car that I've ever had and is on the verge of dying - it has failed ABS sensor(s), a failed MAF or O2 sensor, an unidentified brake issue, rear tires that seriously need replacing, a rusted-over fuel door that requires a tool to pry open, a failing driver-side power window motor, etc.

What are you guys driving in the meantime?

I'm stuck in a terrible SQ5 which I will pawn off to my wife when the 2er arrives.

Naw, kidding about the terrible part - the SQ5 is amazing! I'll be very happy going back and forth between SQ5 and M235i. My wife's X1 will be traded and I for one will not miss that thing.

Currently driving a F30 320i Sapphire Black/Black.
Have had the car since Late July 2013. Currently has 19k on the clock.

It's looking like May 16' will be when I place an order on a 235i convertible. Hopefully. If not then I'll have to get a 228i convertible. Aiming to step up to a more desirable model. If not oh well atleast I'll still have a Vert.

Driving my 07 Nissan Frontier. Got it new towards the end of college, and it was a handy thing to have right out of the gate, moved five time in five years. Time to retire it to the work truck/foul weather commuter spot

.....a Prius

Was our first car out of gradschool and, needless to say, practicality was much more important than fun at the time.

This wait is going to kill me.
