Haha. I had the jb on my old 135i and after a couple failed maf sensors, each time I took it in they opened a puma case and my balls shrunk. Granted I can afford the Dinan and the peace of mind is worth it for me. I did find a dealer who was fine just adding on the stage 2 tune without the Cai and exhaust so I'll let you know how the power gains feel for those who are interested. Next year I might do the big turbo and all the essentials with stage 4 Dinan. Cheers |

You will be disappointed with stage 2. Stage 3 is when it actually feels much faster, and you start hitting real boost levels 17-18psi.

Well I just got back from the authorized Dinan dealer and can say the Stage 2 tune feels amazing compared to stock. It may not be stage 3 but its everything i need for now. There is noticeable gains throughout the entire rpm range causing that tire traction light to blink blink blink :-p Looking forward to taking the car to Sonoma Night Drags. Next year i will prob go with dinan stage 3 pending bonus season Cheers! |

How does it work. Do you have to purchase a stage 3 tune, and u just pay the difference and its swapped out? Or is it a completely separate purchase from the stage 2 tune.

Just pay the difference between the 2 stages and the unit is updated (no physical changes other then whatever hard parts may be needed to support it).

You pay the difference between the 2 and the 3. The Stage 3 does require the Dinan intercooler.

speed limiter at 135...
AWD xdrive with runflats. Can only go ECU tune to get rid of it. It offers plenty of power for a DD. I put a wagner catted DP on it and im probably around 370 -380 whp.

I'm done at Stage 3. I don't intend on tracking it enough to justify Stage 4. Stage 3 is more than enough power for me. I'm very happy with it.

Just the intake and and tune. I dont care much for a loud exhaust. but i think next year ill def add the FMIC and stage 3 tune, or just to stage 4 depending on the bonus pay out :-p

Rolling Stage 3 Dinan Tune with Dinan CAI my Dinan shop installed the CAI for free. I paid retail for the CAI. I could have done myself in 10 minutes but whatever.
I have the upraded BMW M sport exhaust for my m235i. (another 1200.00 or so on order price if I remember) Dinan shop said that's good enough. list of dinan parts on my 2er: 1. Stage 1,2,3 tune 2. CAI 3. Dinan Intercooler. BMW parts LSD BMW M sport exhaust upgrade Diffuser 6 SPD MT The front air splitter thingies. Carbon fiber spoiler M Sport Rotors (not the 4k brake system I just bought the ROTORS for this system, and put them on my stock blue caliper system at about 2500 miles. No problems at all, looks sick and only cost 1k ) Love the performance. my suggestion: A good starting point from stock is Stage 2 for sure, you will definitely notice the performance increase from stock. On Stage 2, long as you got the M sport exhaust all you have to do is the DINAN ECM tune itself to reap the full benefit. I mean if you can afford the extra cash for the CAI buy it yourself and install, way easy. Unless your Dinan shop will install at no extra cost which they often do if your buying a tune at the same time. Gluck man Last edited by usabia; 06-07-2016 at 02:31 PM.. |
