JB4 map 2 17lbs of boost...?

Just wondering if it is normal to hit 15lbs of boost on Map1 and 17lbs on map2. I posted today on N54tech awaiting some answers. My mods are, Dinan intake ER catless DP. Armytrix exhaust. JB4 OBD2 w/ rev 3 bluetooth. FF wires connected 93octane gas and EWG wires not connected. Waiting for FMIC to connect. I have been on map 1 for the majority because TBH I thought i was on map 2 this whole time. After checking my first few logs it was showing hitting 14.6 lbs or so and thought that seemed right for map 2. Throw me ur 2 cents. Thnx

Here is the link to N54tech for a few .csv files, 4th gear pulls http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showth...379#post473379

Dang, that's almost double stock boost. I'm guessing that the N55 can handle it. It just seems a bit intimidating to neophytes such as myself.

should i be running partial E85 blend for Map2 then if its hitting 17psi. do these EWG's creep or is it consistently adding boost through the powerband as appropriate purposely ? I was under the impression that 93 alone was not enough to properly support this much boost.

You should be posting this in the n54tech.com forum, post some logs in the support section and BMS should chime in.

The logs will show you boost against rpm. Its a progressive ramp up. Logs need to be 2000 rpm to redline then a few hundred rpm in the next gear with dsc off. Use 3rd into 4th if you only have quiet public highway at your disposal to keep things semi legal. 4th has you over 120mph at redline. Plus ensure 100% throttle is applied straight from 2k rpm and hold it there till red line and don't lift. Your logs aren't hitting wot for long enough if at all (pedal is at 100 but throttle isn't for long) to get true boost readings. I had this issue with my first logs too as its too tempting to want to lift asap.

Edit: You need to connect your ewg wires. Log in map 5 too to find out what the car is comfortable with. The guys at n54 tech will sort you out though don't worry. Great support there.

Damn...didn't realize the tune is pumping that much boost.

Is that a recommended safe map (map 2) to run everyday?

n54tech.com/forums/usercp.php

It's not a lot of boost for some, map2 is recommended for those with downpipes, or 93+ octane better and blends of E85

thanks guys, I appreciate the guidance. I got the EWG tied in today and as soon as I get good weather plus time I will do a few pulls and post to N54tech. If I implement 2 gallons of E85 with 93 should I step my plugs down 1 heat range or go with the stockers for now?

Ok... So i got a few today to get a few pulls in on map5 straight 93... I tried my best with car sport+ 2000-6300 RPM. These should be much better logs than my previous thanks to ALLTHATISNTNOW. Im just curious why the car in pedal is 100% but throttle isnt..? Looks like boost was tapered back and drops off at points not sure why. AFR looks good but i cannot read the timing which i hear is more important. I will repost on N54tech and see if someone replys. Thanks again guys and if anyone wants to chime in feel free

Make sure you're on latest firmware which us currently 7 for EWG.
Do 2 logs on map2 and 2 for map5
Post it on jb4 forum

N54 guys run nearly 2.5X stock boost.

17 is no big deal for the N55.

If you aren't posting your logs on a datazap.me nobody is going to bother opening up the files and doing the dirty work.

Upload to datazap.me it's not only easier for you to read but for everyone else too.

Actually there prefer you attach .csv files directly to your post. They do not want you to use datazap or other file hosting sites.

BMS and most on n54tech. I thought that was what we were all referencing here. In fact BMS will not even look at your logs if it's not attached as a .csv

2addicts doesn't allow .csv attachments.

Steve replied to my logs and said all looked normal but could use some octane. I added 2gal of E85 to roughly 11.5 gal of 93 and tried some 3rd gear pulls today...looks like its targeting around 15-16 psi. Feels smooth and power comes in nicely. I will post them soon on N54tech. Next fuel up ill try closer to 2.5 gal of E85 to 11-11.5 gal 93 and see how she likes it..

I get mine at various gas stations in my area from the pump.

Google "E85 locator".

If can post a link to your log on n54. I would like to look at it to further my learning of JB4

Edit: Nevermind...see you posted it in the first post now. I saw your logs over there the other day.
