LSD Install Torque Specs

So I really want a LSD on my M235i, and the only thing stopping me is the install, namely what the torque specs are. Well, on a whim I decided to search for a DIY, and found this:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=513544

It looks simple, well swapping the pumpkins at least, and it includes the torque specs for the axles and driveshaft. The HPA differential tool is the same between the platforms, too. I know it's for a 135i, but I was under the impression the 135i and the M235i were mechanically similar, therefore hoped maybe there was an off-chance that those torque specs would remain the same. Can anyone provide any insight to this?

Edit: Just wanted to apologize in advance to anyone coming into this thread from Google or another search looking for the actual specs.

I thought this was common knowledge for all German cars.
All fasteners should be torqued Gutentight!!

I was thinking about winging it with torqueing and whatnot, seems like a good idea.

Document for the swap as well as torque specs attached.

It seems like it's the same procedure whether you have an auto or manual transmission.

Now I have a question for you...

http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...=982938&page=6

What tool do you plan to use to get the rear axle shafts out of the differential? BMW seems to spec tool 33 5 120 which is about $750-800 - glorified pry bar. Would a simple pry bar or two work?

I couldn't see why not. Thanks for the install guides!

I've got a buddy who said he'd help me install it if I could find the torque specs, I'll have him look over the installs to get his take. His experience isn't with BMWs, it's Nissians from when he lived in Japan and use to build S chassis-based drift cars. Swapping a pumpkin should be cake, and I'd imagine if there wasn't a workaround for these pry bars somebody would make a generic equivalent ala the HPA differential tool.

Please do a DIY once you're done. I will be tackling this at some point as well.

You betcha. The thing that's stopping me from ordering is the core deposit on the complete units sold by HPA Autosport in case I ran into a show stopper on the install. Oh, another thing too is deciding between the Quaife and Wavetrac versions. Leaning toward the Wavetrac one.

It would be awesome to have a DIY. The F3x platform would benefit from a DIY as well.

Any reason why you're going with a torque biasing LSD instead of just the BMW M Performance LSD? (The most obvious to me would be that you have a 6MT and not the 8SAT...).

I have seen a slide hammer used to pull the stub shafts out. Make a plate with a couple bolts going into the stub shaft and pull. Looking forward to the DIY

No reason, either one has its pros and cons, but a torque biasing one seems new and exciting.
