Dinan WAS ECU flash lol, now for Fxx series its all piggyback based now which its hilarious how people are getting robbed for a piggyback system with less features than JB4 (more than half price with a better backed up community and proven record better support)

I've experimented with several tunes on this car (Dinan, Manhart, Racechip, Jb4, Enzo), the Dinan was by far the most expensive and by far the worst. I had the stage 1, it dynoed at half the advertised gains and caused the occasional drivetrain malfunction.

Go stage 3 Dinan. You wont be disappointed and will have a warranty.

Only people who complain are the ones who don't have the money to spend.

It will not be the fastest compared to a jb4 with DP, FMIC, etc... but you can pull up to BMW without having to take anything off for service. That may be worth it to you.

FWIW, I just had my car serviced and didn't remove anything. FBO with pure turbo, Enzo flash and jb4. All I did was put it in map 0 and had zero issues.

But if something were to go wrong with your car, you'd remove all your add-ons before going in for service/warranty claim right?

Okay, despite all the flamers bashing Dinan on this thread, I'm hoping to find someone that's actually done a Dinan P3 package on an M235 with x-Drive.

Would love to hear feedback if you've actually own an M235xi with the full Dinan tune.

The only guy I know that had the full Dinan stage 3 just sold it and got an Enzo flash. Hope that helps.

he sold it because bmw has a limiter of 135mph with the run flats. went with enzo that flashes the ecu removing the limiter. i dont think he had any complaints about the Dinan tune other than not being able to go over 135 as he does a lot of tracking.

There are a lot of dinan haters for some reason. I know you can get Amazing products with other tuners and vendors, but Dinan does make great products.

I had a piggy by BMW on my 135i, and now i have the dinan stage 2 on my 235i.

ITs great and less worries on my side. If u got the cash and can afford stage 3/4 by dinan. do it.

I ordered my car without run flats so that it wouldn't have the limiter at 135mph. Not to mention that I'm not a fan of how run flats ride.

So, he got an the Dinan big turbo and then did an Enzo flash?

Dinan Stage 1 is not worth it... i had dinan stage 3 and i switched to jb4 and instantly felt a difference
If dinan actually did what they said then you shouldnt be feeling the difference
Just go jb4 save yourself the money

ask any questions you want...

I had Dinan stage 3, intake, fmic, dinantronics box.

I than installed a wagner catted DP.

I did need to remove speed limiter so went to Enzo for ecu tune and removed the dinantronics box.

See attached dyno charts for the difference in Dinan tune vs Enzo ECU tune all on 93 octane.

If i went with a cattless DP id be 405-411whp.

Some people have said "Well you put a DP and that voids the warranty with Dinan so..." I honestly liked the Dinan, and would have went Stage 4 with bigger turbos if i didn't have the speed limiter.

It's very close in dyno results. So if you have the money, don't care about a speed limiter, Dinan stage 3 will still throw up some nice numbers and you'll have a nice reliable car.

If you live near NY, just go to Enzo and save thousands of dollars. If your in Cali, go to Mission. ECU tune is way to go. Jb4 is cool, aa8 is cool, turner is cool but they are all piggy backs that may or may not throw drivetrain malfunctions.

Thing is Manual transmission Clutch can't handle more than 400 ft/lbs of torque as far as i know, so none is for me

Is your name John ?
And you're having a million one issues ?
How can you run 2 piggyback on the same car?
When it blows don't blame anyone but yourself
