DD company car F31 330d xDrive
DD wife F36 428i xDrive GC M235i will be the weekend car, initially I ordered an M2 but a bailed out a few days ago having an excellent opportunity for a M235i, wich will cost me a lot less (even it is clear it is also "less" car), having our first baby in a few weeks this won't be a bad thing. |

I would avoid Honda like the plague!! My parents had a CRV for less than 3 years and had constant battery issues. They are not the only ones. There is a software bug they never could resolve than drained the battery. Tried multiple new batteries...nothing ever wrong with alternator either. The battery would just drain and the ended up having to carry a portable battery booster around everywhere. They traded it in and got the small Lincoln ute.

I have been DD'ing the M235i but want to phase it out into a weekender. In less than a year I've put over 13500 already... this car is too special to me to keep cranking out miles like this.
I just got a new job and am set on buying an NB Miata to daily!!

The M235 is my daily driver. The variable settings make it comfortable under almost all circumstances, unlike the 328 with Sport suspension that we had a few years ago, a real bone-rattler.
My wife has a 2016 X3, which we use for longer trips. It's great to have a very different car with very similar controls. |

Right now I'm driving a '12 Focus SE hatchback. A very good handling car which gets great gas mileage. I'd recommend it to anyone except for the endemic transmission problems of that model year ,which I haven't experienced---yet
My 228i MSport is under a car cover in the garage attached to battery maintainer until probably April 1st, unless the Super El Nino hangs in there. Then maybe March 15th.: . |

My DD is a vw e-golf. The M235i is an alternate daily driver (the ratio is yet TBD since the car just got back from my ED). My toy car is a 1961 Porsche 356 B Roadster.

I'm surprised (in a good way) that people like the M235i enough to keep one as a weekend car. To me, BMWs have always been daily drivers with sport car abilities/qualities. If i had a weekend car it would be a S2000, cayman, Z4M, or something else along those lines. High revving, torqueless wonders with manual transmissions .

Being in Cleveland, I can't bring myself to drive my Rwd M235 in the salt and potholes, so it's in storage. Now it's my 2013 Focus ST with winter wheels and tires. I have to say that the Focus is my first American car since 1979, and it has far exceeded my expectations. I like it better than the 2007 GTI and 2010 Mazdaspeed 3 that came before it.

the 2 series is made to be a daily driver. don't get me wrong, i LOVE my 235, its the best car I've ever owned. But it is made to be a fun DD. Whats the point of having this as a side car in FLorida? Just get a well optioned M235i or pull the trigger and go F82. There is no need for 2 cars unless one of them really is special.
