Black m235i here with carbon fiber spoiler and mirror caps as well as gloss black grille with m colors

Debating over which color wheels to get, will be going with 19 or 18 inch vmr 710s

I will either get them in black n black out all the badges as well,or gun metal and keep the chrome on the exhaust tips and badges, any input on which will look better or have any pics

Side question- will a blacked out m235i look weird with the m colors on the grille, will it be too much color for a blacked out car???

personally I tend to go for contrasts rather than too much of one shade, so I would go for a lighter wheel on a dark car and darker wheel on a light car if given the choice.

It is possible to have too much black. I'd go with the gun metal wheels and not be afraid of "M" colors.

I have a black convertible with the BBS SR wheels - anthracite they call it a MB Himalaya grey color. I get compliments on them all the time.

19" wheels in NYC!!!!!
I hope you either have wheel and tire insurance or a lot of spare cash, or that you don't drive the car.
I live out in the burbs of the Island and the 18" wheels are usable only because I have insurance. I average about one major mishap every six months. In the winter, I use 17's.

I use 17s year round. Once the car is not a DD I'll go back to 18s but Apex ~$300 disposable-ish if need be.

I live in the east Bronx throggs neck east tremont area, haven't had any problems yet, I'd be willing to run 18s still but I wanna run 255 tires in the rear and don't know if that's possible

silver looks best on an all black car. even gunmetal is not enough contrast imo.

I too prefer some contrast. In the summer I use apex arc 8 in hyper silver. I love the look with the chrome Dinan tips out back.

This is correct. I'd do silver wheels, lose the M stripes, and go back to stock grilles. Amazes me how people want to make their kidney grilles disappear into blackness. Let them be seen people!

Thanks for posting that pic, I am getting Arc-8 installed on our E46 tomorrow and was debating getting a set for my M235 in the near future.

No problem. To give you an idea of fitment, they're 18x8.5 et38 all around. Dinan springs. OEM mpss tire/sizes. Very flush... The rears actually rubbed, but fixed that with -2° camber.

I like the traditional design, light weight (18lb), and inexpensive enough as to not be too painful in the (likely) event of replacing a bent one.

Thanks! $300-ish is my upper limit on wheels. I don't want to puke every time I right a check for a bent rim replacement.

Out of those two, I'd go Grey

Black can look good, but has to be the right wheel/offset/stance to be pulled off or you get 4x4 look, lol

Took some Dinan springs/spacers to make these look right on the car, they seemed off, without..:
