That has been one of the things we have speculated about in the past. Would be a low cost way to camoflage a huge selling point feature for some people.

Nice catch on the tiny LBB reveals.
When I first imagined the car in the LBB color, I thought it unique and unusual and a probable selection. I'm not so sure anymore.
I know I should wait to see it fully clothed, so to speak. But, my impression now of the LBB color is that while it is eye catching, it may also be a bit more effeminate than I'd care for.

Anyone notice the front plate holder? If you look at the concept vehicle, it has a large mouth opening, with the top end sloping inward, similar to what this is looking like on the mule. I think the M2 is going to have that same wide mouth look as the GT6 concept - maybe slightly less pronounced, but still there. Would be a pretty drastic change from the norm, and perhaps out of character for BMW, especially on a street car that will require a front plate. It would look amazing though.

Not sure how intensive the camo is, but does this mean there will be no hood budge or M3/4 style mirror caps?

I have high hopes for this car, but I hope it stands out like how the M3/4 does vs the normal 3/4 series

I think you mean see it naked in its pure form. It's fully clothed now

Looks pretty much the same as the regular 2-series.

I would go nuts if someone could squeeze M4 LED headlights into this car.

To me the standard 2er lights lack the aggressive look that this body style will have.

But I'm sure it will look great regardless. It already does.

Thanks for pointing this out. I agree with most of your analysis.
The wide mouth look is there; but, I see the same basic look on the M4 and the 1 car. Different, yes, but I'm not sure I'd conclude the wide mouth on the mule is going to be a drastic change. What I do see on your picture that I've not noticed before is a crease just below and paralleling the headlights. That crease appears to turn downward in the same way as a similarly positioned crease on the vision GT (See below). If that's the case, to me, the more drastic changes may be designed into the two areas adjacent to the wide mouth. On the mule, visually, there appears to be a lot going in those positions.

No, it doesn't mean that. It just means they're not fitted to the test mule. We won't know for sure until the production reveal. The only "concrete" information we have is what we can see is on the car now (which will likely make it to production), and what has leaked in production documents (e.g., the engine number designation).

Nothing is 100% certain until the production reveal.

If the car is wrapped in black vinyl (whcih it looks to be by the scratched areas exposing the Long Beach Blue), how can we be sure BMW hasn't run a carbon fiber roof on the mules this entire time? Won't take much to wrap it up, right?

Because all the new CF roofs have had the double bubble style:

And we've also seen an Alpine White mule in California with a regular sunroof delete. I could be wrong of course, but this does not look like a wrap to me:

This late in the game, if we have seen CF roof by now, then we won't for the M2. They're trying to camo LBB here.

If you compare the Alpine White M4 with the M2 you see that the colors are way off so my I bet the M2 is wrapped there too. All F8x test mules were wrapped in the beginning too.
