Yeah the black interior as the only choice is kind of disappointing since I personally don't like black interiors. I guess I got kind of lucky since if I do get an M2 it will be Long Beach Blue, so at least it will have LBB contrast stitching which is pretty cool.

I understand that they want to keep the spirit of the 1M, but I don't know why this is one of the aspects they would want to keep.

M3 Adjuster has seen the Leipzig plant and said that "the paint process IS the bottle neck on vehicle production.. it's about the only place on the line where the car isn't moving..." I guess I can understand why there's a limited amount of exterior options, but I still wonder why they went this route with the interior. Maybe Leipzig is limited in its interior options as well.

Thats the way I want my M2! All guys who need these and these and these and these ..... ..... ..... should pick a F80. I want my nimble, pure 6 MT M2!

I still find it odd that the M235i can be optioned better than an M car. When does that ever happen in production for BMW Ms?
Dare I say... 1M?

My recommendation is to start contacting US dealerships outside your area ... Will be interesting to see if BMW NA funnels more of these cars to the dealers that sell more 1/2 series like they did with the 1M.

For example in tx I believe the Austin dealer has the most allocations for the 1m, at least more than all the DFW area dealers which steer buyers to the 3/4 series

Damn you're quick to jump down people's throats just for voicing some minor complaints about the car. No car is perfect, and just because someone dislikes a thing or two about the M2 doesn't mean they should bug off and just get an M3/4 or something. Yeah it's cool that BMW is building the M2, but it doesn't mean they're now automatically free from criticism.

But what they're being criticized is exactly what they are planning on having hapen. It's a good sign for BMW when they are criticized for certain things regarding the M2. So if someone is like "well why can't I get this?! FAIL!" it's pretty ironic. But otherwise, sure, this is a discussion board, and we are discussing

Just ignore him; Adem and Adjuster both seem to have this inexplicable need to respond to every negative statement about the M2. They have likely run out of other things to say, since they seem to spend every waking moment on this board, haha.

I'm sorry, really. I really am. This M2 stuff is like crack to me. I'll lay off for a while

Exactly, it's a discussion board! It would be boring if everyone said "wow, what a perfect car!" and with like 238,000 members on Bimmerpost that's just not gonna happen. The reasons BMW is being criticized for is probably a discussion for another thread, so I won't go there haha.

I post on some sports forums and during the offseason there are a lot of posts criticizing/complaining, since everyone is antsy for the next season to start. That's kind of the stage we're in now since we just don't know everything and since we've been waiting for a reveal for a while now. After we get a full technical and exterior/interior reveal, we'll move onto another stage of criticisms (the "regular season" so to speak) and you're right, that's what the discussion board is for

Looks like being built to keep price down which is good. Also leaves room for a CSL with carbon etc

Bit disappointed if this is final. Can't believe they couldn't put new M4 seats and CF roof even as an option!

Here's looking to the CSL if it ever comes. I think this will get the proper seats and CF roof just hope it's not super expensive.
Now just need to know:
When it would be released 1,2 or 3 years after base M2
Will it be 6MT
Priced under the M3

If it's 3 years I'd be happy to get the base M2 on 3 year lease then upgrade. Hopefully M2 can hold its value.

Make your own CSL.

Aftermarket will offer the CF Roof, and those lovely seats are just a click away.

I have to say, even with the short options list, it would still work out quite well for me. In Belgium, the only options I'd have to tick would be 6MT, MG, HK, tinted rear windows and maybe one of the phone integration options in case iDrive doesn't come standard with BT audio. Everything else is already standard equipment. However, BMW being BMW, I guess there will be a lot less standard equipment in Germany.

Since adaptive suspension is not an option, I wonder if it will be standard or simply not offered on the car. Any info on that, emathis?

Apparently. BMW likely about the M2: "Folks, take it ///My way, or take the F80/F82 highway".

Would they really cover the seats up just to hide the blue stitching? There must be something new under the cover.

Have you asked for the trade in value?
I would be surprised if you got a euro over €30k. Unfortunately BMW Sweden pays very bad. I got €6k more in a private sale compared to trade in value on my F30 335.

Haven't been to the dealer yet. Haven't had the time but who knows after 2-3 years it won't be worth a penny , Considering my car is only 10 months old so far.
