Torino docked at Bremerhaven
I think (I hope!) I'm gonna be on this ship, as my car has been at the port for about five days now. Exciting times!!

Ahhh, I remember the days of tracking my baby through production and on it's way here from port. The anticipation was so real. It will be worth every second of the wait.

Yeah, it's fun that we have the tools to track our cars like this. The weeks do seem like months!
I still haven't got absolute confirmation that my car is on this ship...I'll call the dealer in a couple days to see if he knows anything. It moved to a different docking location within the port, but hasn't headed out to sea yet. |

Yes!!! It's on the Torino, which is almost to Zeebrugge in Belgium. A rep on the Genius 800 number confirmed it. So nice that its ocean voyage has begun.

OK, I'm a little obsessive. When the Torino docks at Port Hueneme, I'm gonna circle a couple times overhead at about 2500' MSL (weather permitting) and take some pics to document the occasion. I'll be sure to post here!

Through the Panama Canal and chugging toward California. ETA to Port Hueneme got moved up a day, to the 18th.
I figure at least a week from docking there to being able to take delivery. |

How far are you from the port? It still took about 5 days before my car got on a truck, 3 days to get up to my dealer and another day before I could pick it up.
Where are the aerial pictures?

It's about 100 miles from the port to the dealer, so i figure I'm lucky if I can pick it up on Friday. Probably next week sometime. Heck, I've waited so long, so what's another few days?
Oxnard/Pt. Mugu have been socked in with the marine layer all day, so the flight was a no-go. Classic SoCal June Gloom. Of course, everything else along the coast was VFR. Sunny and hot today!! |
