Birth Certificate - Finally

Finally got some good news about my M240 Cab today.
Looks like it finally "exists"
Long wait after ordering on December 29th last year...

We, in Canada, can't track order status the way you guys in the US can, so all I have is an output from the VIN decoder

How long did it took you guys to get the car after production date?
I'm guessing 6-8 weeks.

It took 5 weeks after the production date for me to pick up my car last fall. Seemed like an eternity!

Placed order feb 9 th, told they had one in queu for Feb production so they only needed to get in the system and change the Colours. Delivery for first week of April. Tracked the production via phone line because the online version is non existent for Canadians and actual production start date was Feb 27...now the delivery date is delayed two weeks to April 25th.

9 weeks from production date
11 weeks from order placement

Do you know if your car was a completed build or if missing the boot for the Vert top?

From what I know, (and the dealer knows) it was completed. Production was pushed back from February to April in order to complete production.
We do not have the option to install anything "at port" in Halifax, as you guys have in the US.
Sending "incomplete cars" is not an option for us.
Our other car was completed on March 30th and made it on to Tosca. Sailed out of Bremerhaven yesterday.
By my calculations - this one should make the Torino, which sails out on the 11th.
In the meantime - tracking the Tosca. My wife's 330e is on it

Nice... 2 cars at once and Bimmers at that!

Thanks for the head up on builds for Canada. If your order got moved to April so it could be build with the top boot, I'm guessing my April build will have it installed at the factory too. That's good to know because I really wanted it put all together in once place.

Yeah. It's never that simple. We have two diesels (an Audi A3 and a VW Golf).
I was only thinking replacing one of them, but because of the "diesel scandal" VW/Audi is offering to buy them back.
I did not really have a problem with either car, but they are offering way more money than I could ever get for them. Which is great, but the whole process is still a hassle...

Cool!
Almost perfect timing to catch the Otello (the next ship). You need at least a 6-7day window to get to Bremerhaven and get on a ship, by the looks of it. You got 8 days. Not bad.
Our 330 had 6 full days between "completed" and ship leaving the port - it made it on to the ship (the Tosca).
The 240 had only 5 days - it "missed the boat" so to speak....
I'm hoping it's being loaded on the "Patriot" today. Ship leaves tomorrow (or Friday)

Winter.zed,

Hate to tell ya but I know I'm not going to make the Otello... And I don't want to be on it.. That ship isn't going to make port in Baltimore based on what I see.

If I'm lucky, I'll make either the Theben (4/23) or Tugela (4/24). They're both scheduled to make it to Baltimore on 5/6. If I miss them, I expect to make the Toscana (4/26), but that won't make it to Baltimore till 5/12. I guess I've got my fingers crossed for Tugela.. If I'm lucky.
