Looks like the black grille option available on the 235 is not an option for the 240.

I was able to add it to my M240i order. It might take some time for all the options to appear in the configurator. For example, Apple Carplay wasn't there as an option a couple days ago (but I have that in my build as well, which ended production already).

M performance options aren't part of the pricing/ordering guide, they're separate for PIA.

Yes, true. What might've confused some is that the black grille was an option in the M235i online configurator making it seem like it was factory installed.

Blacked out grilles showed up on my invoice from the dealer but still not available on the configurator. Hmmm, maybe they'll install them at the port in Baltimore [fingers crossed]

Why do people use the configurator from information? Everything you want to know is in black and white in the pricing guide, the online config tool tells you NOTHING.

Forgive if this has been asked and answered (I searched for metallic but nothing came up). Why does the Pricing guide published on the first page show $550 for metallic paint, while the configurator insists that its $700?

There were some threads over in the 3/4 series forums about this, looks like BMW secretly raised the price of metallic paint from $550 to $700 after the MY17 pricing guides came out.

I originally plan on getting a new fully loaded M240i xDrive, but then the dealer has a M235 xDrive CV which is 90% of what I have in mind except for the CV. I am driving a convertible right now, so I am ok with that, but it's not a must have option. My understanding is that people are getting rough 5% off for M240i, and the dealership is currently doing only 6.x% off on the M235i CV, do you guys think the discount is a little low?

Here is the reply I got
Spoke with my Manager and as I suspected we are taking into consideration the models are changing hence the discount already on the car.* We carry roughly a 6% Profit Margin in our 2016 models and it's been lowered to 5% on 2017's.* This 2016 M235i xDrive Convertible you're considering is already discounted $3,810.31 which is more than 6% already so I would say I likely have a few hundred dollars to play with and maybe the doc fee at this point since the Invoice price is $55,700.

2016's still on the lot are are going from 8-12% off MSRP. I bought my 2016 3 weeks ago and got 11% off. You can do better than 6%.

Thank you again for the advice, while I was unable to get a deal as good as you described on your reply, probably because of my trade-in, I did pick up the M235i xDrive CV listed on Sat. It's definitely a great car that's very fun to drive.

I'm looking to purchase in the next few months and its quite shocking that I cant even ORDER anything awd from BMW with a standard tranny

It rather short sighted in my opinion....I suspect they would sell more Xdrive vehicles

I confirmed my order right at the end of August with 5.1% off MSRP, $51,780 for a $54,580 M240i.

I would think that is about right for an ordered 2017 in August 2016. You might be able to get a little more if they are marking up the MF but even then how much time do you want to spend haggling to save $10/mo?

You should definitely be getting more off for a 2016 though, especially if they have it on the lot. As others have said 11-12% should be the goal.
