Where does everyone keep their cell phones?

To start, I love this car. For me it's the perfect commuter car (230i 6MT) - just enough power to make it fun in the city. A bit anemic on the highway but that's OK. Decent enough gas mileage, seats fold down when I need to haul the occasional large item.

However, I cannot find a decent place to place/mount my cell phone. Right now I'm using one a magnetic mount, with the mount attached to the AC vent to the left of the steering wheel. Ideally I'd like the phone to be mounted somewhere near the vents in the center of the dash, but then it either ends up blocking the view of the iDrive display, or the radio controls.

So... where do you all keep your phones while driving?

My main "requirement" is having the phone as high as possible without using a suction cup mount & mounting on the windshield. Used to have an E82 with a proclips mount... loved that setup.

I have my mount clipped as far right in passenger vent as possible and closed the vent. It doesn't block the iDrive screen and is perfectly visible without moving around too much. The only downside is passengers lose one of their two vents, but no one I've driven around has complained that they're either too hot or cold and that they need it opened. Would take pics but don't have my car right now

I mount mine on the vent. It holds it well and stays put. The clips that clip on to the vent slat are very strong. Very easy to see and I don't have to look down into a cup holder.

I'm using a simple Kenu vent mount.

Unicorn Beetle case on a holster on my belt. Never accidentally left the phone in the car and zero added clutter in the car.

OP referenced pro clip. Why isn't that the solution of choice? It seems like exactly what he wants.

I could be wrong as I haven't seen one in the F22, but it looks like it'd block either buttons 7,8 if mounted towards the passenger side, or the volume knob if mounted towards the drivers side.

I have one mounted to the right of the vents it doesn't block a thing. Mine is 2016 though so I'm not 100% sure on an LCI car.

In the centre arm rest plugged in to the AUX port and that's where it stays until I pull over or arrive at my destination because having it visible and able to be interacted with is a distraction.

The center armrest compartment doesn't have a lot of storage space but I find it perfect for my cell phone. I also keep a little mini charging cable in there.

Mount to the right of the passenger vent and you're good. Run cable to armrest for charging. 15 min install.

Because I use Qi wireless charging, I have a magentic mount placed in my cupholder and the phone rests on it quite nicely. Since I use voice control and almost never need to look at the phone, it's ideal.

The Belkin cupholder mount is flawless but if I ever got a car with no inbuilt nav and therefore had to rely on my iPhone for navigation, I would have to mount it much closer to my driver's FOV.

I use the Pro Clip mount, shoved all the way to the right.

Then I've used a Koomus (from amazon) magnetic stick on mount on the front of it.

I have Koomus mounts in the rest of the car, so this made the most sense to me.
