Lol, you hit the nail on the head. Anytime the M235 gets criticized on these forums the pseudo "M" owners are out for blood. Big mistake on BMW's part attaching the "M" monicker to this car. All they did was create a sense of entitlement for a select group who just don't know...nor never will know...how a real ///M car performs. Unless of course they've actually owned one and on this forum, those people are few and far between.

Amazing the difference between threads related to the 228 vs the M235. No fighting or ignorant rants amongst the 228ers no matter how enthusiastic or critical the posts are. But heaven forbid you criticize the 235. You're the latest victim unfortunately, glad you were able to laugh it off!!

Having said that, your review was certainly harsh but the beauty of performance is in the eye of the beholder. Obviously lots to do with comparing the capabilities of your own tuned car vs the bone stock 235.

There are four modes: eco, comfort, sport and sport +
Next time press sport or sport + because Eco mode is just like your description: boring, turbo lag, gearbox sucks, etc.

Ok, I gotta finally chime in here. As a former owner of a e36,e46, e90 m3, and a current owner of the m235i, all brand new by the way. The 235 is not a M car. That being said, with the JB4, and partially without it, it is as quick or quicker in every way. I can afford the the m4 when released, and I might just pick up the m2. But right now, for the price, this is by far the best bang for the buck, by far from BMW. I could not be happier with the 235. I agree they should drop the exterior M badges, that's why all mine are gone.

I feel, after 3,800 miles including two road trips over 500 miles, each direction this 235 is in everyway a better car.
maybe its because i'm getting older, maybe not.
Just my thoughts.
