I agree. Sometime in July, however I would not be surprised if the press release comes out in August.

so if we go by this dash, we're looking at 155mph.. ish... top speed? 260kph is about 160mph if I remember right...... that'll be fun in this thing.

That's pretty much every reasonably powerful non-Porsche German car since the mid 80's. 155 mph (250 kph) has been the gentlemans agreement for top speed for ages. I rented a Boxster in Germany and could creep by 95% of all other autobahn traffic at about 162 mph.

So Porsche drivers aren't gentlemen. Got it. I hope this car is underrated like the 335i. It'll be nice to through on a JB4 on her and see what she's really capable of.

As I look forward 3 yrs to what I hope is my next new BMW, the M235i seems a great candidate for tuning and performance mods while staying somewhere near planet earth on pricing. With the limited slip, this could be a dream tuner car...

BTW, please excuse if I missed but we will be getting the 8 spd auto NOT the DCT correct?

Interesting that the hood shut line is mentioned here. I don't understand why BMW ends the hood so short now. In fact it's been getting shorter since the E46 (which I think perfected the lines of the car and integrated the kidney grill into the hood). Even the existing E92 hood line is much less pronounced than this. What gives, BMW?

Pedestrian safety rules in Europe have dictated this design of the hood shut line

That's the assumption yes, as per the M135, the option will be the 8-speed ZF auto rather than the DCT.

I only wish I could delete the sunroof, I think they ruin the look of any sports car...... That will be my next car.

Agreed! I hate sunroofs and have been toying with the idea of having an E92 M3 CF roof put on my 335i to get rid of it. Luckily, it seems that BMW is starting to give us the option..... Which is much appreciated.

Those must be the optional 18" wheels. I think I prefer the other style wheels better from the previous pics

According to the leaked specs, that will be the standard wheel for the sport line model and it is 17".

This exact wheel is the optional upgrade for the sport line model too on the current F20 1er hatch.

Ah, ok. Yeah actually looking at it again, they do seem somewhat small.

As long as the M235i comes with the multi-spoke 18" wheel standard, I'm good with that

I don't know, these 17s actually look decent for the wheel arch and the design is quite nice too.

I just wish that the M1/235i had more official m-performance wheels to choose from. I'm not the type of person to put aftermarket wheels and I don't like the the current M1/235i wheel design.

Yeah, I always thought 17" looked small on the 1 series while the 18" seems to be perfect.

As far as aftermarket wheels, I'm with you. I don't want to spend the extra money in that area. The OEM look is fine with me.

I agree, BMW should give us the M Performance wheel option from the factory and not have to spend the extra money as a dealer option.

I am trying to keep my enthusiasm in check. What evidence do you see that BMW will allow us to avoid sunroofs? I NEED that headroom back!
